Going Nowhere Special
I was going nowhere special,
just wandering around...
I wanted to see if anywhere
some answers could be found.
I was lost so very often,
but continued with the search,
'till one cold and rainy night
I found this old stone church.
It was a quiet place,
very dusty and quite old;
but it surely was a sturdy place
that would guard me from the cold.
There was something very special,
a warmth about that place;
and as I raised my head and turned around
I saw a peaceful looking face.
The face was so gentle,
and the eyes understood;
If he were asked to help me,
in a moment, I know he would.
He died on the cross
for you and for me;
and his eyes say "Look at me,
what do you see?"
Well, I saw the concern
and the love in this man,
and he seemed to come closer
and hold out his hand.
"Your problems are great,
please give them to me.
I'll help you to solve them,
just try me and see."
Well, love is hard to refuse,
it really is;
So I came a little closer
and put my hand in his.
I found what I was looking for
and now I never need to hide,
For now I'm always joyful,
walking by my savior's side.
