I am thinking more about my Bobby during the holidays..he loved the sights, sounds and smells, and family get-togethers....but, his philosophy was that if you wanted to tell someone how much you care or wanted to give them a gift, don't just do it on holidays...Even though he was right about this, he still loved the holidays.....

I love you, my son,  and I miss you as much today as the day you left 5 1/2 years ago.

I know exactly what you mean, and what you are going through Rean. Andy loved the holidays as well so he was on my mind quite heavily as the holidays approached. When I lost all my beautiful ornaments that the kids had made me on top of that, it really sent me for a loop. My tears of sadness were suddenly tears of joy when I received a parcel in the mail from our very own angel, Dawn, who sent me a beautiful heart ornament that opened up to reveil a picture in which I put a picture of Andy. At that time I assumed that Dawn had been given my name to send the christmas ornament to, so I thanked her wholeheartedly and showed everyone what she sent me. Shortly after Christmas I received another parcel in the mail with another Christmas ornament only this time it was from Lis who told me that she had been chosen to send me the ornament. I was really surprised.......but realized that Dawn had sent me that beautiful ornament out of the kindness of her heart knowing I lost everything and that I was trying to spend at least one good christmas with my family. So as they say, "Angels come in different forms". So in a way your son is right and I have to agree that gifts are given at anytime of year because you care and not just at Christmas time, but for me the little gift I received from someone I've never even met before, came to me because she cared, and wanted me to have a good christmas, and her timing was unbelievable. It really made my Christmas! Starting over didn't seem so bad all of a sudden.
Hugs...Shannon
