God Loves the Family

God loves the family so much , He established laws and rules for them to go by in order that it may go well with them. God hates to see families break up and go their seperate ways. There really is something to the statement, "Families that pray together, stay together."

When you have a need who is usually the first person you call on? Usually it is a family member. We all need that family support system. Your family may have to call on you during one of their times of need.

I love it when the family gets together for fellowship, during the holidays or any other time of the year. My daughters have a time they call "Sister's Day" ( I have 5 daughters) they have a great time together and also ,mother and grandaughters gets to join in the fellowship time at different times of the year.

Why did God create the family? We see in the book of Genesis that God gave Adam a helpmate for him, Eve. So here you see the first family. Adam and Eve. God intended to start the families by one man and one woman relationship. I don't believe that He has changed his mind on that. Although the world would have you begin to believe something else. One thing I know and believe is that God is the same yesterday , today and forever!

We read in Duet.6:4-9 "Hear,O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one! You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strenght. And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them dilligently to your children, and talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the door posts of your house and on your gates."

We see from these Scriptures that, God intended for parents to teach their children the Word and the Way of God. Many times we think that the church is responsible to teach our kids, but that is not God's plan for the family.

The church is here to assist families and teach Christian parents how to teach and take care of their own families. Many parents are looking for the church to help them, that is one reason they are coming to the church. That is why it is so important for us to uphold a good standard for church leaders to follow. Are they dillingently seeking the Lord for them selves, and seaching out God's Word in prayer and Bible studies? Are they living a seperated life from the world, or is the stench of the world emitting from their lives?

As Christians we are to reject wrong family influence. We all have some in our families who have tried to persuade us to go the wrong way, we must reject this influence!

Duet. 13:6-10 says: "If your brother, the son of your mother, your son or your daughter, the wife of your bosom, or your friend who is as your own soul, secretly entices you, saying, 'Let us go and serve other gods,' which you have not known, neither you nor your fathers, of the gods of the people which are all around you, near to you or far off from you, from one end of the earth to the other end of the earth, you shall not concent to him or listen to him, nor shall your eye pity him, nor shall you spare him or conceal him; but you shall surely kill him; your hand shall be first against him to put him to death, and afterward the hand of all the people. And you shall stone him with stones until he dies, because he sought to entice you away from the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage."

One thing which I have noticed in the 40 years of being a Christian. Is that Christians talk about each other behind their backs. Not just the members of the congregation, but even the leaders. Do you know this can hurt your family members? If you take your church problems home with you  and talk about them in front of other family members, this will discourage them. Why should they want to serve God when you say there are all kinds of problems in the church. You can always tell when someone has been talking about you in a negative manner, One thing they do is they won't talk to you. Another thing is their natural family members won't talk to you either. The best thing you can do is to reject these family members or friends that try to persuade you. We no longer stone people to death for the many sins they commit, but you can pray for them, and just leave them alone. Since your relationship with God is more important than any other relationship you have.

What is God's purpose of families? We read in Joel  1:3 that God's purpose is for His Word and testimonies to go forth. (not the word that will have a negative influence).

"Tell your children about it, Let your children tell their children, And their children another generation."

As a Christian and being a part of the family of God, we are also to tell not only our own natural families but everyone in the whole world.

Matt.28:19-20- "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit., teaching then to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen
