We must say no to some things to which we would rather say yes, and say yes to some things to which we would rather say no. We must follow the prompting (leading, guiding, and working) of the Holy Spirit through our own spirit.
To walk in the Spirit, we must stay filled with the Spirit. This is accomplished by continually choosing right thoughts, conversation, companionship, music, entertainment, etc.
To do God's will, we must be ready to suffer. If our flesh desires to walk one way and God's Spirit leads in another, a willful decision to be obedient will provoke suffering in the flesh.
The good news is, if we choose to walk in the Spirit daily, we will die to self-centeredness and gain freedom to serve God. We will experience righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. We will live in victory no matter what comes against us.
Invest now for your future: Walk in the Spirit. Start making right choices. Be persistent—and expect to be blessed. Do This: Determine to say yes when the Spirit says yes, and no when the Spirit says no. Crucify your flesh and walk in the Spirit.

You must learn to be excited WHEN YOU'RE BELIEVING, not just when you're receiving. They then said, What are we to do, that we may [habitually] be working the works of God? [What are we to do to carry out what God requires?] Jesus replied, This is the work (service) that God asks of you: that you believe in the One Whom He has sent [that you cleave to, trust, rely on, and have faith in His Messenger]. JOHN 6:28, 29
| IT IS SECOND nature for us to think we must be busy doing the works of God, piling up points with every deed we accomplish. We only want to know how high the pile must get before we've done enough to please God. Jesus says that all the piles of works in the world count for nothing. One thing matters—that you believe in Him. You must first and foremost be a lover of Jesus. That changes everything. How exciting to know Him! When your faith is rooted in love, receiving and giving are natural, and chasing approval is out the window. To receive, believe rather than achieve. |
