God as Revealed in the Old Testament...
Eternal and Glorious-
BASIC BIBLE DOCTRINES #1

(Psa 90:1-4 KJV) A Prayer of Moses the man of God.
LORD, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations.
{2} Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the
earth and the world,
even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.
{3} Thou turnest man to destruction; and sayest, Return, ye children of men.
{4} For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past,
and as a watch in the night.
(Psa 93 KJV)
The LORD reigneth, he is clothed with majesty;
the LORD is clothed with strength, wherewith he hath girded himself:
the world also is stablished, that it cannot be moved.
{2} Thy throne is established of old: thou art from everlasting.
{3} The floods have lifted up, O LORD, the floods have lifted up their
voice; the floods lift up their waves.
{4} The LORD on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, yea, than
the mighty waves of the sea.
{5} Thy testimonies are very sure:
holiness becometh thine house, O LORD, for ever.
(Isa 40:28 KJV)
Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard,
that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth,
fainteth not, neither is weary?
there is no searching of his understanding.
(Deu 33:26-27 KJV)
There is none like unto the God of Jeshurun,
who rideth upon the heaven in thy help,
and in his excellency on the sky.
{27} The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting
arms:
and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee;
and shall say, Destroy them.
(Isa 57:15 KJV)
For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name
is Holy;
I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and
humble spirit,
to revive the spirit of the humble,
and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.
(Jer 10:10-12 KJV)
But the LORD is the true God, he is the living God, and an everlasting king:
at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to
abide his indignation.
{11} Thus shall ye say unto them,
The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth,
even they shall perish from the earth, and from under these heavens.
{12} He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by
his wisdom,
and hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion.
(Rom 1:20 KJV)
For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly
seen,
being understood by the things that are made,
even his eternal power and Godhead;
so that they are without excuse:
`
(Rom 16:26-27 KJV)
But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets,
according to the commandment of the everlasting God,
made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:
{27} To God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ for ever. Amen.
(1 Tim 1:17 KJV)
Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible,
the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.
(Prov 8:12,22-31 KJV)
(12) I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty
inventions...
(22) The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of
old.
{23} I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth
was.
{24} When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no
fountains abounding with water.
{25} Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought
forth:
{26} While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest
part of the dust of the world.
{27} When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon
the face of the depth:
{28} When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the
fountains of the deep:
{29} When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his
commandment:
when he appointed the foundations of the earth:
{30} Then I was by him, as one brought up with him:
and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him;
{31} Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth;
and my delights were with the sons of men.
(Micah 5:2 KJV)
But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of
Judah,
yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel;
whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.

JESUS CHRIST... "ETERNAL" AND FROM EVERLASTING
1. Without beginning or end of existence.
2. Without beginning of existence.
3. Without end of existence or limited duration; everlasting; endless;
immortal.
4. Perpetual; ceaseless; continued without intermission
5. Unchangeable; existing at all times without change;
(Exo 3:14 KJV)
And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM:
and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath
sent me unto you.
(Isa 57:15-16 KJV)
For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name
is Holy;
I dwell in the high and holy place,
with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit,
to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite
ones.
{16} For I will not contend for ever, neither will I be always wroth:
for the spirit should fail before me, and the souls which I have made.
(Isa 40:28-29 KJV)
Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard,
that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth,
fainteth not, neither is weary?
there is no searching of his understanding.
{29} He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he
increaseth strength.
(Deu 33:26-27 KJV)
There is none like unto the God of Jeshurun,
who rideth upon the heaven in thy help, and in his excellency on the sky.
{27} The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms:
and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy
them.
(Jer 10:10-13 KJV)
But the LORD is the true God, he is the living God, and an everlasting
king:
at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to
abide his indignation.
{11} Thus shall ye say unto them, The gods that have not made the heavens
and the earth,
even they shall perish from the earth, and from under these heavens.
{12} He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by
his wisdom,
and hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion.
{13} When he uttereth his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the
heavens,
and he causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth;
he maketh lightnings with rain, and bringeth forth the wind out of his
treasures.
(Psa 93:4-5 KJV)
The LORD on high is mightier than the noise of many waters,
yea, than the mighty waves of the sea.
{5} Thy testimonies are very sure:
holiness becometh thine house, O LORD, for ever.

THE DWELLING PLACE OF GOD IS HEAVEN
(Isa 66:1-2 KJV)
Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my
footstool:
where is the house that ye build unto me?
and where is the place of my rest?
{2} For all those things hath mine hand made,
and all those things have been, saith the LORD:
but to this man will I look,
even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.
(Deu 26:15-17 KJV)
Look down from thy holy habitation, from heaven,
and bless thy people Israel, and the land which thou hast given us,
as thou swarest unto our fathers, a land that floweth with milk and honey.
(Mat 6:9 KJV)
After this manner therefore pray ye:
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
(Rev 21:3-4 KJV)
And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying,
Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men,
and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people,
and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
{4} And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes;
and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying,
neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

GOD IS "EXALTED" ABOVE ALL ELSE
Exalted= Raised to a lofty height; elevated; honored with office or rank;
extolled; magnified; refined; dignified; sublime.
(Isa 45:5-8 KJV)
I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me:
I girded thee, though thou hast not known me:
{6} That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west,
that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else.
{7} I form the light, and create darkness:
I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
{8} Drop down, ye heavens, from above, and let the skies pour down
righteousness:
let the earth open, and let them bring forth salvation,
and let righteousness spring up together;
I the LORD have created it.
(Isa 6:1-3 KJV)
In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a
throne,
high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.
{2} Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings;
with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and
with twain he did fly.
{3} And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of
hosts:
the whole earth is full of his glory.
(Isa 46:9-10 KJV)
Remember the former things of old:
for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,
{10} Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things
that are not yet done, saying,
My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:
(Psa 83:18 KJV)
That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high
over all the earth.
(Psa 97:9 KJV)
For thou, LORD, art high above all the earth: thou art exalted far above
all gods.
(Exo 15:11 KJV)
Who is like unto thee, O LORD, among the gods?
who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?
(1 Ki 22:19 KJV)
And he said, Hear thou therefore the word of the LORD:
I saw the LORD sitting on his throne,
and all the host of heaven standing by him on his right hand and on his
left.
(Hab 1:12-13 KJV)
Art thou not from everlasting, O LORD my God, mine Holy One?
we shall not die. O LORD,
thou hast ordained them {the wicked} for judgment;
and, O mighty God, thou hast established them for correction.
{13} Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on
iniquity:
wherefore lookest thou upon them that deal treacherously,
and holdest thy tongue when the wicked devoureth the man that is more
righteous than he?

Sovereignty of God
God, who exists as Father, Son and Holy Spirit, is sovereign and exercises
supreme and absolute rule over all creation as a part of and consistent with
the essence and attributes of Deity
SOVEREIGNTY OF GOD The biblical teaching that God is the source of all
creation and that all things come from and depend upon God. Sovereignty
means that God is in all and over all.
(Psa 24:1-9 KJV) A Psalm of David.
The earth is the LORD'S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that
dwell therein.
{2} For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the
floods.
{3} Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his
holy place?
{4} He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart;
who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.
{5} He shall receive the blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the
God of his salvation.
{6} This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O
Jacob. Selah.
{7} Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors;
and the King of glory shall come in.
{8} Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty
in battle.
{9} Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors;
and the King of glory shall come in.
Creative Sovereignty
God is the Lord of creation, the source of all things, who brought the world
into being and who guides His creation toward a meaningful end. God’s
creativity is not the result of chance or randomness. It holds promise and
purpose which God intends.
(Gen 1:1 KJV)
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Moral Sovereignty
God’s sovereignty, His authority over creation, is grounded in God’s
essential nature which is moral. God is to be obeyed not simply because He
is mighty but because He is righteous (Ps. 50:6). God judges His creation on
the basis of His profound moral character. He is both the source of all
creation and the source of all goodness.
(Psa 50:3-7, 14-17 KJV)
Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence:
a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about
him.
{4} He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may
judge his people.
{5} Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with
me by sacrifice.
{6} And the heavens shall declare his righteousness:
for God is judge himself. Selah.
{7} Hear, O my people, and I will speak; O Israel, and I will testify
against thee: I am God, even thy God.....
{14} Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High:
{15} And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou
shalt glorify me.
{16} But unto the wicked God saith, What hast thou to do to declare my
statutes,
or that thou shouldest take my covenant in thy mouth?
{17} Seeing thou hatest instruction, and castest my words behind thee.
Transcendent Sovereignty
God’s sovereignty is transcendent, beyond our complete comprehension (Isa.
6:1). God is separate from His creation and works in ways that human beings
do not always understand. Transcendence is closely related to God’s
holiness, His surpassing moral purity and essential otherness. See Holy.
(Isa 6:1-8 KJV)
In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a
throne, high and lifted up,
and his train filled the temple.
{2} Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings;
with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and
with twain he did fly.
{3} And one cried unto another, and said,
Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his
glory.
{4} And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the
house was filled with smoke.
{5} Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone;
because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of
unclean lips:
for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.
{6} Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand,
which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar:
{7} And he laid it upon my mouth, and said,
Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy
sin purged.
{8} Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying,
Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?
Then said I, Here am I; send me.
Purposeful Sovereignty
God’s sovereignty moves toward a particular end, a specific purpose. God’s
purpose is to bring His creation—His whole creation—to fulness and
completion, to fellowship with Him: "God was in Christ, reconciling the
world unto himself" (2 Cor. 5:19). The kingdom of God is the end toward
which God moves His creation.
(Phil 2:5-13 KJV)
Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
{6} Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with
God:
{7} But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a
servant,
and was made in the likeness of men:
{8} And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself,
and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
{9} Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which
is above every name:
{10} That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
{11} And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the
glory of God the Father.
{12} Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence
only,
but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and
trembling.
{13} For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good
pleasure.

God Created Man and Woman
BBD#5- God Created Man and Woman; The Fall into Sin

MAN WAS CREATED IN INNOCENCE
(Gen 1:26-28, 31 KJV)
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness:
and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of
the air,
and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing
that creepeth upon the earth.
{27} So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he
him; male and female created he them.
{28} And God blessed them, and God said unto them,
Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it:
and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air,
and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth...
{31} And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very
good.

(Gen 2:7-9 KJV)
And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground,
and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life;
and man became a living soul.
{8} And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden;
and there he put the man whom he had formed.
{9} And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow
every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food;
the tree of life also in the midst of the garden,
and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
THE COMMAND TO ADAM NOT TO EAT OF THE TREE OF THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD AND EVIL
AND THE WARNING OF THE RESULT OF DEATH
(Gen 2:15-17 KJV)
And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress
it and to keep it.
{16} And the LORD God commanded the man, saying,
Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
{17} But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat
of it:
for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
(Ezek 18:4 KJV)
Behold, all souls are mine;
as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine:
the soul that sinneth, it shall die.
(Rom 6:23 KJV)
For the wages of sin is death;
but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

THE CREATION OF WOMAN
(Gen 2:18-25 KJV)
And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone;
I will make him an help meet for him.
{19} And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field,
and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would
call them:
and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.
{20} And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to
every beast of the field;
but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.
{21} And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept:
and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;
{22} And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman,
and brought her unto the man.
{23} And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh:
she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
{24} Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother,
and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
{25} And they were both naked, the man and his wife,
and were not ashamed.
THE TEMPTOR, SATAN "THE SERPENT"
(Ezek 28:12-19 KJV)
Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus{a metaphor for
Satan}, and say unto him,
Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and
perfect in beauty.
{13} Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God;
every precious stone was thy covering,
the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper,
the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold:
the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the
day that thou wast created.
{14} Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so:
thou wast upon the holy mountain of God;
thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.
{15} Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created,
till iniquity was found in thee.
{16} By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee
with violence,
and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the
mountain of God:
and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of
fire.
{17} Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty,
thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness:
I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may
behold thee.
{18} Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine
iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffic;
therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee,
it shall devour thee,
and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that
behold thee.
{19} All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee:
thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more.
(John 8:44 KJV)
Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do.
He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth,
because there is no truth in him.
When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own:
for he is a liar, and the father of it.
THE TEMPTATION AND THE FALL
(Gen 3:1-7 KJV)
Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the LORD
God had made.
And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every
tree of the garden?
{2} And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the
trees of the garden:
{3} But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God
hath said,
Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
{4} And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
{5} For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall
be opened,
and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
{6} And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food,
and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one
wise,
she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat,
and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
{7} And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were
naked;
and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.
GOD (THE PRE-INCARNATED JESUS) INVESTIGATES THE FALL OF MAN
(Gen 3:8-20 KJV)
{8} And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the
cool of the day:
and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God
amongst the trees of the garden.
{9} And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?
{10} And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because
I was naked; and I hid myself.
{11} And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked?
Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest
not eat?
{12} And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me,
she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.
{13} And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done?
And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.
{14} And the LORD God said unto the serpent,
Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above
every beast of the field;
upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy
life:
{15} And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed
and her seed;
it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
{16} Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy
conception;
in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children;
and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.
{17} And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of
thy wife,
and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt
not eat of it:
cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the
days of thy life;
{18} Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt
eat the herb of the field;
{19} In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto
the ground;
for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou
return.
{20} And Adam called his wife's name Eve; because she was the mother of all
living.
(Rom 5:12 KJV)
Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin;
and so death passed upon all men,
for that all have sinned:

GOD DEMONSTRATES HIS GRACE AND PICTURES THE NECESSITY OF SACRIFICE FOR SIN
(Gen 3:21 KJV)
Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins,
and clothed them.
THE EXPULSION FROM THE GARDEN AND THE TREE OF LIFE
(Gen 3:22-24 KJV)
And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good
and evil:
and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and
eat, and live for ever:
{23} Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden,
to till the ground from whence he was taken.
{24} So he drove out the man;
and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims,
and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of
life.
(Rev 2:7 KJV)
He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches;
To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life,
which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

Jesus Christ; Second Person of theTrinity
BASIC BIBLE DOCTRINE #6a

(Mat 17:1-2 KJV)
And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother,
and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart,
{2} And was transfigured before them:
and his face did shine as the sun,
and his raiment was white as the light.
JESUS CHRIST EXISTED IN GLORY IN ETERNITY BEFORE THE WORLD WAS CREATED
John 1:1-2 (KJV)
In the beginning was the Word,
and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
{2} The same was in the beginning with God.
(John 17:5 KJV)
And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self
with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.
(John 1:18 KJV)
No man hath seen God at any time;
the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared
him.
(John 3:13 KJV)
And no man hath ascended up to heaven,
but he that came down from heaven,
even the Son of man which is in heaven.
(John 14:10-11 KJV)
Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me?
the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself:
but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
{11} Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me:
or else believe me for the very works' sake.
(Heb 1:2-3 KJV)
God, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son,
whom he hath appointed heir of all things,
by whom also he made the worlds;
{3} Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his
person,
and upholding all things by the word of his power,
when he had by himself purged our sins,
sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
JESUS CHRIST CREATED THE HEAVENS AND THE EARTH
(Heb 1:8-12 KJV)
But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever:
a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.
{9} Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity;
therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness
above thy fellows.
{10} And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the
earth;
and the heavens are the works of thine hands:
{11} They shall perish; but thou remainest;
and they all shall wax old as doth a garment;
{12} And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed:
but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail.
(John 1:3-4 KJV)
All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that
was made.
{4} In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
(Col 1:14-17 KJV)
Jesus Christ, In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the
forgiveness of sins:
{15} Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
{16} For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in
earth,
visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or
principalities, or powers:
all things were created by him, and for him:
{17} And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
(John 1:9-12 KJV)
That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the
world.
{10} He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew
him not.
{11} He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
{12} But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons
of God,
even to them that believe on his name:
(Psa 33:6 KJV)
By the Word of the LORD were the heavens made;
and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.
(Psa 102:25-27 KJV)
Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth:
and the heavens are the work of thy hands.
{26} They shall perish, but thou shalt endure:
yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment;
as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed:
{27} But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end.
(Isa 45:11-13 KJV)
Thus saith the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, and his Maker,
Ask me of things to come concerning my sons, and concerning the work of my
hands command ye me.
{12} I have made the earth, and created man upon it:
I, even my hands, have stretched out the heavens, and all their host have I
commanded.
{13} I have raised him up in righteousness, and I will direct all his ways:
he shall build my city, and he shall let go my captives,
not for price nor reward, saith the LORD of hosts.
(Eph 3:9 KJV)
And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery,
which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God,
who created all things by Jesus Christ:
(Rev 4:10-11 KJV)
The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne,
and worship him that liveth for ever and ever,
and cast their crowns before the throne, saying,
{11} Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power:
for thou hast created all things,
and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

The Pre-Incarnate Goings-Forth of Jesus Christ
Basic Bible doctrines BBD#6b

(Heb 1:1-3 KJV)
God, who at sundry times and in divers manners
spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
{2} Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son,
whom he hath appointed heir of all things,
by whom also he made the worlds;
{3} Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his
person,
and upholding all things by the word of his power,
when he had by himself purged our sins,
sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
Dear Friends in Christ,
I have been fascinated for a long time with the Deity and Pre-incarnate
existence of Jesus Christ as it is revealed in the scriptures. During the
Christmas season we celebrate the coming to earth and taking on of our flesh
of Jesus Christ. Perhaps it would be good to consider His Eternal Existence
as a member of the Trinity, before He ever came to the manger. His "goings
forth" have been from Old Testament times being seen on this earth, and yet
keeping His true identity hidden until just the right time when He came to
live a perfect life and die on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins.
(Micah 5:2 KJV)
But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of
Judah,
yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel;
whose goings forth have been from of old{Heb=from the very beginning}, from
everlasting.
The group of scriptures below shows how the Pre-incarnation existence of
Christ relates to the revealing of His Deity. By these Scriptures, Jesus
Christ, The Son of God is seen to be in His Infinite Person and eternal
existence, coequal with the Father and the Holy Spirit, and this fact is
unaffected by His becoming a Man. Therefore, Jesus Christ is shown to be
True God and True Man all at the same time.
It is important to note that there are literally HUNDREDS of instances of
the terms "the Word of God" and "the Word of the Lord" in both the Old and
New testaments. In my own Bible readings, It is easy to midd the
significance of this thought, that these terms are actually talking about
Christ Himself, and not the Bible. Especially in the Old Testament this was
hidden from view. Notice we have to go all the way to the book of Revelation
before we are told specifically that the hidden name of Jesus Christ is "the
Word of God". So like many things in the scriptures, this is at once hidden
and yet in plain view all at the same time. Jesus talked to the prophets and
revealed things to them, "the Word of the Lord came to Isaiah saying...."
And it is also worthy of note that both Jesus Christ and the Biblical
Writings are called "The Word of God", and little effort is expended to
clarify which one is being talked about. Thus Jesus emphasizes how closely
Christ and His Word are identified with each other.
(John 1:1-3 KJV)
In the beginning was the Word,
and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God.
{2} The same was in the beginning with God.
{3} All things were made by him;
and without him was not any thing made that was made.

God Bless you as you read and ponder His Word and Our Saviour.
In Christ......brother bob........<><

HIS NAME IS CALLED, "THE WORD OF GOD"
(John 1:14 KJV)
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us,
and we beheld his glory
the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,
full of grace and truth.
(Rev 19:11-13 KJV)
And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse;
and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True,
and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
{12} His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns;
and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
{13} And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood:
and his name is called The Word of God.
[Note: Word{Grk= logos; "something said and the thought behind it"; in this
case, the Divine Expression, the revealing of God's truths.]
(2 Pet 3:5 KJV)
For this they willingly are ignorant of,
that by the Word of God the heavens were of old,
and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
(1 Pet 1:18-23 KJV)
Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as
silver and gold,
from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
{19} But with the precious blood of Christ,
as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
{20} Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world,
but was manifest in these last times for you,
{21} Who by him do believe in God,
that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory;
that your faith and hope might be in God.
{22} Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth
through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren,
see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:
{23} Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible,
by the Word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
(Heb 13:5-8 KJV)
Let your conversation be without covetousness;
and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said,
I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. {6} So that we may boldly say,
The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
{7} Remember them which have the rule over you,
who have spoken unto you the Word of God:
whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation.
{8} Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
(Heb 11:1-3 KJV)
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not
seen.
{2} For by it the elders obtained a good report.
{3} Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the Word of
God,
so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
(Heb 4:11-14 KJV)
Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest,
lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.
{12} For the Word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any
twoedged sword,
piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints
and marrow,
and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
{13} Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight:
but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have
to do.
{14} Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the
heavens,
Jesus the Son of God,
let us hold fast our profession.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE OLD TESTAMENT "GOINGS FORTH" OF THE "WORD OF GOD"=JESUS
CHRIST
(Gen 3:6-9 KJV)
And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was
pleasant to the eyes,
and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof,
and did eat,
and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
{7} And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were
naked;
and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.
{8} And they heard the Voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the
cool of the day:
and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God
amongst the trees of the garden.
{9} And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?
(Gen 15:1 KJV)
After these things the Word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision,
saying,
Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.
(Deu 4:33-36 KJV)
Did ever people hear the Voice of God speaking out of the midst of the
fire, as thou hast heard, and live?
{34} Or hath God assayed to go and take him a nation from the midst of
another nation,
by temptations, by signs, and by wonders, and by war, and by a mighty hand,
and by a stretched out arm,
and by great terrors, according to all that the LORD your God did for you in
Egypt before your eyes?
{35} Unto thee it was showed, that thou mightest know that the LORD he is
God; there is none else beside him.
{36} Out of heaven he made thee to hear his Voice, that he might instruct
thee:
and upon earth he showed thee his great fire;
and thou heardest his words out of the midst of the fire.
(Deu 5:23-27 KJV)
And it came to pass, when ye heard the voice out of the midst of the
darkness, (for the mountain did burn with fire,)
that ye came near unto me, even all the heads of your tribes, and your
elders;
{24} And ye said, Behold, the LORD our God hath showed us his glory and his
greatness,
and we have heard his voice out of the midst of the fire:
we have seen this day that God doth talk with man, and he liveth.
{25} Now therefore why should we die? for this great fire will consume us:
if we hear the voice of the LORD our God any more, then we shall die.
{26} For who is there of all flesh, that hath heard the voice of the living
God
speaking out of the midst of the fire, as we have, and lived?
{27} Go thou near, and hear all that the LORD our God shall say:
and speak thou unto us all that the LORD our God shall speak unto thee;
and we will hear it, and do it.
(Micah 5:2-4 KJV)
But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of
Judah,
yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel;
whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.
{3} Therefore will he give them up, until the time that she which travaileth
hath brought forth:
then the remnant of his brethren shall return unto the children of Israel.
{4} And he shall stand and feed in the strength of the LORD,
in the majesty of the name of the LORD his God;
and they shall abide:
for now shall he be great unto the ends of the earth.
(1 Ki 12:22 KJV)
But the Word of God came unto Shemaiah the man of God, saying....
(1 Chr 17:3-5 KJV)
And it came to pass the same night, that the Word of God came to Nathan,
saying,
{4} Go and tell David my servant,
Thus saith the LORD, Thou shalt not build me an house to dwell in:
{5} For I have not dwelt in an house since the day that I brought up Israel
unto this day;
but have gone from tent to tent, and from one tabernacle to another.
(Num 15:30-31 KJV)
But the soul that doeth ought presumptuously, whether he be born in the
land, or a stranger,
the same reproacheth the LORD;
and that soul shall be cut off from among his people.
{31} Because he hath despised the Word of the LORD, and hath broken his
commandment,
that soul shall utterly be cut off; his iniquity shall be upon him.
(Deu 5:4-7 KJV)
{4} The LORD talked with you face to face in the mount out of the midst of
the fire,
{5} (I stood between the LORD and you at that time,
to show you The Word of the LORD:
for ye were afraid by reason of the fire, and went not up into the mount;)
saying,
{6} I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt,
from the house of bondage.
{7} Thou shalt have none other gods before me.
(Psa 90:1-4 KJV)
A Prayer of Moses the man of God.
(Psa 102:24-27 KJV)
I said, O my God, take me not away in the midst of my days:
thy years are throughout all generations.
{25} Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth:
and the heavens are the work of thy hands.
{26} They shall perish, but thou shalt endure:
yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment;
as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed:
{27} But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end.
Isa 7:14 (KJV)
Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign;
Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son,
and shall call his name Immanuel.
(Note:"Immanuel" in Hebrew means: "With us is God")
Isa 9:6 (KJV)
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given:
and the government shall be upon his shoulder:
and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor,
The mighty God, The everlasting Father,
The Prince of Peace.
(John 1:1-4 KJV)
In the beginning was the Word,
and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God.
{2} The same was in the beginning with God.
{3} All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that
was made.
{4} In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
-------------------------------
JESUS CHRIST: THE VISIBLE EXPRESSION OF THE INVISIBLE GOD
John 8:58 (KJV)
Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you,
Before Abraham was, I am.
Exo 3:13-14 (KJV)
And Moses said unto God, Behold,
when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them,
The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you;
and they shall say to me, What is his name?
what shall I say unto them?
{14} And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM:
and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel,
I AM hath sent me unto you.
Isa 43:10-13 (KJV)
Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD,
and my servant whom I have chosen:
that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he:
before me there was no God formed,
neither shall there be after me.
{11} I, even I, am the LORD;
and beside me there is no saviour.
{12} I have declared, and have saved, and I have showed,
when there was no strange god among you:
therefore ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, that I am God.
{13} Yea, before the day was I am he;
and there is none that can deliver out of my hand:
I will work, and who shall let (hinder) it?
John 17:3-5 (KJV)
And this is life eternal,
that they might know thee the only true God,
and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
{4} I have glorified thee on the earth:
I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.
{5} And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self
with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.
John 13:3 (KJV)
Jesus knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands,
and that he was come from God,
and went to God....
Phil 2:5-11 (KJV)
Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
{6} Who, being{Grk=from the beginning} in the form of God,
thought it not robbery{Grk=a prize to be retained at all costs} to be equal
with God:
{7} But made himself of no reputation{Grk=emptied Himself},
and took upon him the form of a servant,
and was made in the likeness of men:
{8} And being found in fashion as a man,
he humbled himself,
and became obedient unto death,
even the death of the cross.
{9} Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him,
and given him a name which is above every name:
{10} That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
{11} And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.
Col 1:12-22 (KJV)
Giving thanks unto the Father,
which hath made us meet{Grk=worthy} to be partakers
of the inheritance of the saints in light:
{13} Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness,
and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
{14} In whom we have redemption through his blood,
even the forgiveness of sins:
{15} Who is the image{Grk=visible expression} of the invisible God,
the firstborn{Grk=foremost in importance and authority} of every creature:
{16} For by him were all things created,
that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible,
whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers:
all things were created by him, and for him:
{17} And he is before all things,
and by him all things consist.
{18} And he is the head of the body, the church:
who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead;
that in all things he might have the preeminence.
{19} For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;
{20} And, having made peace through the blood of his cross,
by him to reconcile all things unto himself;
by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
{21} And you, that were sometime alienated
and enemies in your mind by wicked works,
yet now hath he reconciled {22} In the body of his flesh through death,
to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:
Rev 1:8 (KJV)
I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord,
which is, and which was, and which is to come,
the Almighty.
Rev 21:3-8 (KJV)
And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying,
Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men,
and He will dwell with them,
and they shall be His people,
and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
{4} And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes;
and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying,
neither shall there be any more pain:
for the former things are passed away.
{5} And he that sat upon the throne said,
Behold, I make all things new.
And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
{6} And he said unto me, It is done.
I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end.
I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life
freely.
{7} He that overcometh shall inherit all things;
and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
{8} But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable,
and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers,
and idolaters, and all liars,
shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone:
which is the second death.

THEOPHANIES: PRE-INCARNATION APPEARANCES OF GOD THE SON
Basic Bible Doctrines #6c

(Exo 33:20 KJV)
And he(GOD) said, Thou canst not see my face:
for there shall no man see me, and live.
(John 1:18 KJV)
No man hath seen God at any time;
the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father,
he hath declared him.
(John 6:46 KJV)
Not that any man hath seen the Father,
save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father.
(Deu 4:23-24 KJV)
Take heed unto yourselves, lest ye forget the covenant of the LORD your
God,
which he made with you, and make you a graven image, or the likeness of any
thing,
which the LORD thy God hath forbidden thee.
{24} For the LORD thy God is a consuming fire,
even a jealous God.
THEOPHANY (Thee' ah fuh nee) A manifestation of God to man by actual
appearance. These all occured before Jesus Christ once for all took on flesh
and was made in the likeness of man.
(Phil 2:5-8 KJV)
Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
{6} Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with
God:
{7} But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a
servant,
and was made in the likeness of men:
{8} And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself,
and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
THE NEED FOR A THEOPHANY
The basic postulate here is that to see God would be fatal. "He said, ‘You
cannot see My face, for no man can see Me and live!?"
THE ANGEL OF THE LORD
(Exo 3:2-6 KJV)
And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the
midst of a bush:
and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not
consumed.
{3} And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the
bush is not burnt.
{4} And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him
out of the midst of the bush,
and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I.
{5} And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet,
for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground. {
6} Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God
of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.
And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God.
(Exo 19:16-24 KJV)
And it came to pass on the third day in the morning,
that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mount,
and the voice of the trumpet exceeding loud; so that all the people that
was in the camp trembled.
{17} And Moses brought forth the people out of the camp to meet with God;
and they stood at the nether part of the mount.
{18} And mount Sinai was altogether on a smoke, because the LORD descended
upon it in fire:
and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole
mount quaked greatly.
{19} And when the voice of the trumpet sounded long, and waxed louder and
louder,
Moses spake, and God answered him by a voice.
{20} And the LORD came down upon mount Sinai, on the top of the mount:
and the LORD called Moses up to the top of the mount; and Moses went up.
{21} And the LORD said unto Moses, Go down, charge the people,
lest they break through unto the LORD to gaze, and many of them perish.
{22} And let the priests also, which come near to the LORD, sanctify
themselves, lest the LORD break forth upon them.
{23} And Moses said unto the LORD, The people cannot come up to mount
Sinai:
for thou chargedst us, saying, Set bounds about the mount, and sanctify it.
{24} And the LORD said unto him, Away, get thee down, and thou shalt come
up, thou, and Aaron with thee:
but let not the priests and the people break through to come up unto the
LORD,
lest he break forth upon them.
(Judg 6:20-23 KJV)
And the angel of God said unto him, Take the flesh and the unleavened
cakes,
and lay them upon this rock, and pour out the broth. And he did so.
{21} Then the angel of the LORD put forth the end of the staff that was in
his hand,
and touched the flesh and the unleavened cakes;
and there rose up fire out of the rock, and consumed the flesh and the
unleavened cakes.
Then the angel of the LORD departed out of his sight.
{22} And when Gideon perceived that he was an angel of the LORD, Gideon
said,
Alas, O Lord GOD! for because I have seen an angel of the LORD face to face.
{23} And the LORD said unto him, Peace be unto thee; fear not: thou shalt
not die.
(Judg 13:16-23 KJV)
And the angel of the LORD said unto Manoah,
Though thou detain me, I will not eat of thy bread:
and if thou wilt offer a burnt offering, thou must offer it unto the LORD.
For Manoah knew not that he was an angel of the LORD.
{17} And Manoah said unto the angel of the LORD, What is thy name,
that when thy sayings come to pass we may do thee honour?
{18} And the angel of the LORD said unto him,
WHY ASKEST THOU AFTER MY NAME, SEEING IT IS SECRET?
{19} So Manoah took a kid with a meat offering, and offered it upon a rock
unto the LORD:
and the angel did wonderously; and Manoah and his wife looked on.
{20} For it came to pass, when the flame went up toward heaven from off the
altar,
that the angel of the LORD ascended in the flame of the altar.
And Manoah and his wife looked on it, and fell on their faces to the
ground.
{21} But the angel of the LORD did no more appear to Manoah and to his wife.
Then Manoah knew that he was an angel of the LORD.
{22} And Manoah said unto his wife, We shall surely die, because we have
seen God.
{23} But his wife said unto him, If the LORD were pleased to kill us,
he would not have received a burnt offering and a meat offering at our
hands,
neither would he have showed us all these things,
nor would as at this time have told us such things as these.
Yet the record is unmistakable that people did see God, such as Moses and
others at Sinai
(Exo 24:5-10 KJV)
And he sent young men of the children of Israel, which offered burnt
offerings
and sacrificed peace offerings of oxen unto the LORD.
{6} And Moses took half of the blood, and put it in basins;
and half of the blood he sprinkled on the altar.
{7} And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the
people:
and they said, All that the LORD hath said will we do, and be obedient.
{8} And Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said,
Behold the blood of the covenant, which the LORD hath made with you
concerning all these words.
{9} Then went up Moses, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the
elders of Israel:
{10} And they saw the God of Israel:
and there was under his feet as it were a paved work of a sapphire stone,
and as it were the body(Heb=substance) of heaven in his clearness.
THE PILLAR OF CLOUD
(Exo 33:9-23 KJV)
And it came to pass, as Moses entered into the tabernacle, the cloudy
pillar descended,
and stood at the door of the tabernacle, and the LORD talked with Moses.
{10} And all the people saw the cloudy pillar stand at the tabernacle door:
and all the people rose up and worshipped, every man in his tent door.
{11} And the LORD spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his
friend. And he turned again into the camp:
but his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, departed not out of
the tabernacle.
{12} And Moses said unto the LORD, See, thou sayest unto me, Bring up this
people:
and thou hast not let me know whom thou wilt send with me.
Yet thou hast said, I know thee by name, and thou hast also found grace in
my sight.
{13} Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, show me
now thy way,
that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that
this nation is thy people.
{14} And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.
{15} And he said unto him, If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up
hence.
{16} For wherein shall it be known here that I and thy people have found
grace in thy sight?
is it not in that thou goest with us? so shall we be separated,
I and thy people, from all the people that are upon the face of the earth.
{17} And the LORD said unto Moses, I will do this thing also that thou hast
spoken:
for thou hast found grace in my sight, and I know thee by name.
{18} And he said, I beseech thee, show me thy glory. {
19} And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will
proclaim the name of the LORD before thee;
and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show mercy on whom
I will show mercy.
{20} And he said, THOU CANST NOT SEE MY FACE :FOR NO MAN CAN SEE ME AND
LIVE.
{21} And the LORD said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand
upon a rock:
{22} And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put
thee in a clift of the rock,
and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by:
{23} And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts:
but my face shall not be seen.
(Num 12:1-10 KJV)
And Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman
whom he had married:
for he had married an Ethiopian woman.
{2} And they said, Hath the LORD indeed spoken only by Moses? hath he not
spoken also by us?
And the LORD heard it.
{3} (Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the
face of the earth.)
{4} And the LORD spake suddenly unto Moses, and unto Aaron, and unto Miriam,
Come out ye three unto the tabernacle of the congregation. And they three
came out.
{5} And the LORD came down in the pillar of the cloud, and stood in the
door of the tabernacle,
and called Aaron and Miriam: and they both came forth.
{6} And he said, Hear now my words:
If there be a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him
in a vision,
and will speak unto him in a dream.
{7} My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house.
{8} With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently(Heb=readily
seen), and not in dark speeches;
and the similitude of the LORD shall he behold:
wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?
{9} And the anger of the LORD was kindled against them; and he departed.
{10} And the cloud departed from off the tabernacle; and, behold, Miriam
became leprous, white as snow:
and Aaron looked upon Miriam, and, behold, she was leprous.
VISIONS
(Isa 6:1-5 KJV)
In the year that king Uzziah died
I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train
filled the temple.
{2} Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings;
with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and
with twain he did fly.
{3} And one cried unto another, and said,
Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his
glory.
{4} And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried,
and the house was filled with smoke.
{5} Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean
lips,
and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips:
for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.
(Ezek 1:3-5 to 2: 5 KJV)
The word of the LORD came expressly unto Ezekiel the priest, the son of
Buzi,
in the land of the Chaldeans by the river Chebar;
and the hand of the LORD was there upon him.
{4} And I looked, and, behold, a whirlwind came out of the north, a great
cloud,
and a fire infolding itself, and a brightness was about it,
and out of the midst thereof as the colour of amber, out of the midst of the
fire.
{5} Also out of the midst thereof came the likeness of four living
creatures.
And this was their appearance; they had the likeness of a man.......
(Ezek 1:27-28 KJV) And I saw as the colour of amber, as the appearance of
fire round about within it,
from the appearance of his loins even upward, and from the appearance of
his loins even downward,
I saw as it were the appearance of fire, and it had brightness round about.
{28} As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain,
so was the appearance of the brightness round about.
This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD.
And when I saw it, I fell upon my face, and I heard a voice of one that
spake.
(Ezek 2:1-5 KJV) And he said unto me, Son of man, stand upon thy feet, and
I will speak unto thee.
{2} And the spirit entered into me when he spake unto me,
and set me upon my feet, that I heard him that spake unto me.
{3} And he said unto me, Son of man, I send thee to the children of Israel,
to a rebellious nation that hath rebelled against me:
they and their fathers have transgressed against me, even unto this very
day.
{4} For they are impudent children and stiffhearted.
I do send thee unto them; and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord
GOD.
{5} And they, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear, (for
they are a rebellious house,)
yet shall know that there hath been a prophet among them.
JACOB AND THE MIDNIGHT WRESTLER
(Gen 32:24-30 KJV)
And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the
breaking of the day.
{25} And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the
hollow of his thigh;
and the hollow of Jacob's thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him.
{26} And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh.
And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me.
{27} And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob.
{28} And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel:
for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.
{29} And Jacob asked him, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, thy name.
And he said, Wherefore is it that thou dost ask after my name?
And he blessed him there.
{30} And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel:
for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.
A VOICE
(Deu 4:12-15 KJV)
And the LORD spake unto you out of the midst of the fire:
ye heard the voice of the words, but saw no similitude;
only ye heard a voice.
{13} And he declared unto you his covenant, which he commanded you to
perform,
even ten commandments; and he wrote them upon two tables of stone.
{14} And the LORD commanded me at that time to teach you statutes and
judgments,
that ye might do them in the land whither ye go over to possess it.
{15} Take ye therefore good heed unto yourselves;
for ye saw no manner of similitude on the day that the LORD spake unto you
in Horeb out of the midst of the fire:
(1 Ki 19:9-13 KJV)
And he came thither unto a cave, and lodged there;
and, behold, the word of the LORD came to him, and he said unto him,
What doest thou here, Elijah?
{10} And he said, I have been very jealous for the LORD God of hosts:
for the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine
altars,
and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and
they seek my life, to take it away.
{11} And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the LORD.
And, behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the
mountains,
and brake in pieces the rocks before the LORD; but the LORD was not in the
wind:
and after the wind an earthquake; but the LORD was not in the earthquake:
{12} And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire:
and after the fire a still small voice.
{13} And it was so, when Elijah heard it that he wrapped his face in his
mantle, and went out,
and stood in the entering in of the cave.
And, behold, there came a voice unto him, and said, What doest thou here,
Elijah?
(Dan 7:1-3, 9-11,13-15 KJV)
In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon Daniel had a dream
and visions of his head upon his bed: then he wrote the dream, and told the
sum of the matters.
{2} Daniel spake and said, I saw in my vision by night,
and, behold, the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea.
{3} And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another....
(Dan 7:9-11 KJV) I beheld till the thrones were cast down,
and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow,
and the hair of his head like the pure wool:
his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire.
{10} A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him:
thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand
stood before him:
the judgment was set, and the books were opened.
{11} I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn
spake:
I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given
to the burning flame.
(Dan 7:13-15 KJV) I saw in the night visions,
and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven,
and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.
{14} And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom,
that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him:
his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away,
and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.
{15} I Daniel was grieved in my spirit in the midst of my body,
and the visions of my head troubled me.

The Holy Spirit of God: Third Person of the Trinity
Basic Bible Doctrine #7a

The Hoy Spirit is the Third Person of the Trinity through whom God acts,
reveals His will, empowers individuals, and discloses His personal presence
in the Old and New Testament. In the Old Testament, He is refered to most
often as The Spirit of God, as in the following verse:
Gen 1:2 (KJV)
And the earth was without form, and void;
and darkness was upon the face of the deep.
And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
The word "Spirit" in both the Old and New Testaments has the meaning of
"breath", so the name "Spirit of God" could also be called "The Breath of
God". It is interesting to note these 2 instances of God breathing into
man...in the first instance, God creates man's body, and then "breathes"
into his nostrils the breath of Life:
Gen 2:7 (KJV)
And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground,
and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life;
and man became a living soul.
In the second instance, Jesus Christ, breathes new Spiritual Life into His
disciples, and equips them for service:
John 20:21-22 (KJV)
Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you:
as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.
{22} And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them,
Receive ye the Holy Ghost:
The name "Spirit of God" is only one of the names given to the Holy Spirit.
This name occurs 14 times in the OT and 12 times in the NT. The name "Holy
Spirit" occurs for the first time in Psalm 51:11 where it says,
Psa 51:11 (KJV)
Cast me not away from thy presence;
and take not thy Holy Spirit from me.
Incidentally, in v v 12, 13, and 14, there are actually 3 descriptions of
the Holy Spirit, with the names, "a right spirit", "thy Holy Spirit", and
"thy Free Spirit" being used.
The Name, Holy Spirit, occurs only 2 other times in the Old Testament, in
Isaiah, who is recounting the deliverance of the Children of Israel from
Egypt by he Mighty hand of God:
Isa 63:7-12 (KJV)
I will mention the lovingkindnesses of the LORD, and the praises of the
LORD,
according to all that the LORD hath bestowed on us,
and the great goodness toward the house of Israel,
which he hath bestowed on them according to his mercies,
and according to the multitude of his lovingkindnesses.
{8} For he said, Surely they are my people, children that will not lie:
so he was their Saviour.
{9} In all their affliction he was afflicted,
and the angel of his presence saved them:
in his love and in his pity he redeemed them;
and he bare them, and carried them all the days of old.
{10} But they rebelled, and vexed his Holy Spirit:
therefore he was turned to be their enemy, and he fought against them.
{11} Then he remembered the days of old, Moses, and his people, saying,
Where is he that brought them up out of the sea with the shepherd of his
flock?
where is he that put his Holy Spirit within him?
{12} That led them by the right hand of Moses with his glorious arm,
dividing the water before them, to make himself an everlasting name?
It appears that the revealing of the Person and work of the Holy Spirit is a
"progressive" revelation, meaning that it is "here a little, and there a
little". This is actually the way most major doctrines of the Bible are
revealed, here a little, there a little, so that we can more easily
understand them. The Holy Spirit is first named simply, "The Spirit of God",
as we saw in Genesis, sort of a generic name.  And throughout the scriptures
more and more is revealed, also by descriptions and activities and names,
until in the last book of the Bible, He is revealed as "The Seven Spirits of
God". Seven is the number of "perfection", and perhaps this is the
declaration that we now have the full revelation of the Holy Spirit. And
apparenlty so we don't miss the lesson, He is called by that name 4 separate
times. Observe:
Rev 1:4 (KJV)
John to the seven churches which are in Asia:
Grace be unto you, and peace,
from him which is, and which was, and which is to come;
and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne;
Rev 3:1a (KJV)
And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write;
These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God,
and the seven stars;
Rev 4:5 (KJV)
And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices:
and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne,
which are the seven Spirits of God.
Rev 5:6 (KJV)
And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts,
and in the midst of the elders,
stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes,
which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.
So let's follow the occurances of the name "the Spirit of God" through the
Bible as it occurs some 26 times from Genesis to 1 John (the last occurance)
and see what God is revealing about His Spirit to us.
The Spirit of God Interacts with the Created World
Gen 1:2b-
"And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters."
The Spirit of God can indwell people
Gen 41:38 (Speaking of Moses)..
-And Pharaoh said unto his servants,
Can we find such a one as this is,
a man in whom the Spirit of God is?
The Spirit of God can give gifts of creative artistic and mechanical skills
Exo 31:3-5 (KJV)
And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom,
and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship,
{4} To devise cunning works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass,
{5} And in cutting of stones, to set them,
and in carving of timber, to work in all manner of workmanship.
Exo 35:31-35 (KJV)
And he hath filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom,
in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship;
{32} And to devise curious works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in
brass,
{33} And in the cutting of stones, to set them,
and in carving of wood, to make any manner of cunning work.
{34} And he hath put in his heart that he may teach,
both he, and Aholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan.
{35} Them hath he filled with wisdom of heart, to work all manner of work,
of the engraver, and of the cunning workman, and of the embroiderer, in
blue,
and in purple, in scarlet, and in fine linen, and of the weaver,
even of them that do any work, and of those that devise cunning work.

The Deity of the Holy Spirit
Basic Bible Doctrine #7b

DEITY= THE CHARACTER OF THE MEMBERS OF THE TRINITY, OF THE GODHEAD;
DIVINITY; HAVING THE NATURE AND ESSENCE OF THE SUPREME BEING; THE CHARACTER  OF GOD, THE INFINITE SELF-EXISTING AUTHORITY OF THE UNIVERSE; THE GREAT "I AM" THE HOLY SPIRIT IS CALLED "GOD"
(Acts 5:3-4 KJV)
But Peter said, Ananias, WHY HATH SATAN FILLED THINE HEART TO LIE TO THE HOLY GHOST?
and to keep back part of the price of the land?
{4} Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart?
THOU HAS NOT LIED UNTO MEN,  BUT UNTO GOD.
THE HOLY SPIRIT IS JOINED WITH THE FATHER AND THE SON
(Mat 28:19 KJV)
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
(2 Cor 13:14 KJV)
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.
THE HOLY SPIRIT IS ETERNAL
(Heb 9:14 KJV)
How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the ETERNAL SPIRIT offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
THE HOLY SPIRIT IS OMNIPOTENT (ALL POWERFUL) PERFORMING MIRACLES
(Luke 1:35 KJV)
And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall  overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

THE HOLY SPIRIT IS OMNISCIENT (ALL KNOWING)
(1 Cor 2:9-12 KJV)
  But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
{10} But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit:
for THE SPIRIT SEARCHETHALL THINGS, YEA THE DEEP THINGS OF GOD.
{11} For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which
is in him? even so THE THINGS OF GOD KNOWETH NO MAN, BUT THE SPIRIT OF GOD.
{12} Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
THE HOLY SPIRIT IS OMNIPRESENT(PRESENT EVERYWHERE AT THE SAME TIME)
(Psa 139:7-12 KJV)
WHITHER SHALL I GO FROM THY SPIRIT? or whither shall I flee from thy
Presence?
{8} If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.
{9} If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of  the sea;
{10} Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.
{11} If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.
{12} Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.

THE HOLY SPIRIT PARTICIPATED IN THE CREATION
(Gen 1:1-2 KJV)
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
{2} And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the SPIRIT OF GOD MOVED UPON THE FACE OF THE  WATERS.

THE HOLY SPIRIT SOVEREIGNLY GIVES SPIRITUAL GIFTS TO INDIVIDUAL CHRISTIANS
(1 Cor 12:6-11 KJV)
And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.
{7} But THE MANIFESTATION OF THE SPIRIT IS GIVEN TO EVERY MAN TO PROFIT WITHAL (ie. from it).
{8} For to one is given BY HE SPIRIT the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;
{9} To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;
{10} To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of  tongues:
{11} BUT ALL THESE WORKETH THAT ONE AND THE SELFSAME SPIRIT, DIVIDING TO EVERY MAN SEVERALLY AS HE WILL.

THE HOLY SPIRIT IS INTIMATELY INVOLVED IN THE NEW BIRTH
   (John 3:3-8 KJV)
Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
{4} Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
{5} Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee,
EXCEDPT A MAN BE BORN OF WATER AND THE SPIRIT, HE CNNOT ENTER INTO THE  KINGDOM OF GOD.
{6} That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and THAT WHICH IS BORN OF THE
SPIRIT IS SPIRIT.
{7} Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
{8} The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth:
SO IS EVERYONE THAT IS BORN OF THE SPIRIT. TO SIN AGAINST THE HOLY SPIRIT RESULTS IN ETERNAL PUNISHMENT
     (Mat 12:30-32 KJV)
He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.
{31} Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be
forgiven unto men: but THE BLASPHEMY AGAINST THE HOLY GHOST SHALL NOT BE FORGIVEN UNTO MEN.
{32} And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but WHOSOEVER SPEAKETH AGAINST THE HOLY GHOST, IT SHALL MOT BE FORGIVEN HIM, NEITHER IN THIS WORLD, NEITHER IN THE WORLD TO COME.

The Personality and Work of the Holy Spirit*Basic Bible Doctrines #7c

 1) THE PERSONALITY OF THE HOLY SPIRIT THE HOLY SPIRIT SPEAKS  BY THE PROPHETS

 (Acts 28:25-28 KJV)  And when they agreed not among themselves, they departed, after that Paul had spoken one word, Well SPAKE THE HOLY GHOST by Esaias the prophet unto our fathers, {26} Saying, Go unto this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive: {27} For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them. {28} Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.
THE HOLY SPIRIT TEACHES AND CAUSES RECALL OF SPIRITUAL LEARNING   (John 14:25-26 KJV)  These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you. {26} But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall TEACH YOU all things, and BRING ALL THINGS TO YOUR REMEMBRANCE , whatsoever I have said unto you.
THE HOLY SPIRIT PLEADS  WITH SINNERS TO REPENT (Gen 6:3 KJV)  And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive(H=contend, plead) with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years. THE HOLY SPIRIT BRINGS COMFORT AND EDIFICATION    (Acts 9:31 KJV)  Then had the churches rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied. (Rom 15:4-6 KJV)  For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. {5} Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus: {6} That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. THE HOLY SPIRIT HELPS OUR WEAKNESSES, AND MAKES INTERCESSION FOR US BEFORE GOD  (Rom 8:26-28 KJV)  Likewise the Spirit also HELPETH OUR INFIRMITIES: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself MAKETH INTERCESSION FOR US with groanings which cannot be uttered. {27} And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. {28} And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.  THE HOLY SPIRIT CAN BE GRIEVED BY CORRUPT AND SINFUL ACTIVITIES   (Eph 4:29-30 KJV)  Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. {30} And GRIEVE  NOT THE HOLY SPIRIT OF GOD, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
THE HOLY SPIRIT CAN BE RESISTED BY DISOBEYING GOD'S WORD   (Acts 7:48-53 KJV)  Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet, {49} Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool: what house will ye build me? saith the Lord: or what is the place of my rest? {50} Hath not my hand made all these things? {51} Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, YE DO ALWAYS RESIST THE HOLY SPIRIT: as your fathers did, so do ye. {52} Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? and they have slain them which showed before of the coming of the Just One; of whom ye have been now the betrayers and murderers: {53} Who have received the law by the disposition of angels, and have not kept it.
2) THE WORK OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IN THE WORLD  THE HOLY SPIRIT CREATES LIFE AND MATTER(Job 33:4-6 KJV)  The SPIRIT OF GOD HATH MADE ME, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life. {5} If thou canst answer me, set thy words in order before me, stand up. {6} Behold, I am according to thy wish in God's stead:     I also am formed out of the clay. (Gen 2:7 KJV)  And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils THE BREATH[Heb=spirit, soul} OF LIFE; and man became a living soul. (Ezek 37:9-10 KJV)  Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Come from the four winds, O BREATH, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live. {10} So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the BREATH [Heb=Spirit] CAME INTO THEM, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army. THE HOLY SPIRIT RENEWS, BRINGING QUIETNESS, PEACE AND RIGHTEOUSNESS   (Isa 32:13-18 KJV)  Upon the land of my people shall come up thorns and briers; yea, upon all the houses of joy in the joyous city: {14} Because the palaces shall be forsaken; the multitude of the city shall be left; the forts and towers shall be for dens for ever, a joy of wild asses, a pasture of flocks; {15} Until THE SPIRIT BE POURED UPON US FROM ON HIGH, and the wilderness be a fruitful field, and the fruitful field be counted for a forest. {16} Then judgment shall dwell in the wilderness, and righteousness remain in the fruitful field. {17} And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever. {18} And my people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, and in sure dwellings, and in quiet resting places; (Isa 44:3-4 KJV)  For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I WILL POUR MY SPIRIT UPON THY SEED, and my blessing upon thine offspring: {4} And they shall spring up as among the grass, as willows by the water courses. (Psa 104:24, 27, 29-31 KJV)   O LORD, how manifold are thy works! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches...  {27} These wait all upon thee; that thou mayest give them their meat in due season. {28} That thou givest them they gather: thou openest thine hand, they are filled with good.(29) Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled: thou takest away their breath, they die, and return to their dust. {30} THOU SENDEST FORTH THY SPIRIT, THEY ARE CREATED: and thou renewest the face of the earth. {31} The glory of the LORD shall endure for ever: the LORD shall rejoice in his works.
THE HOLY SPIRIT CONVICTS MEN OF SIN, RIGHTEOUSNESS AND JUDGEMENT   (John 16:7-12 KJV)  Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. {8} And when HE IS COME, HE WILL REPROVE THE WORLD OF SIN, AND OF RIGHTEOUSNESS AND OF JUDGEMENT: {9} Of sin, because they believe not on me; {10} Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; {11} Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged. {12} I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.  THE HOLY SPIRIT GUIDES YOU INTO TRUTH, NOT SPEAK OF HIMSELF, SPEAKS WHAT THE FATHER INSTRUCTS HIM TO,SHOWS YOU THINGS TO COME, GLORIFIES CHRIST  (John 16: 12-15 KJV){13} Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will GUIDE YOU INTO ALL TRUTH: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come. {14} He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall show it unto you. {15} All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall show it unto you. *From a study found in "Nelson's quick reference topical Bible index. Obedience, Faith, Fruitfulness, and Power in Prayer

(Mark 11:22-25 KJV)
And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
{23} For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain,
Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his
heart,
but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass;
he shall have whatsoever he saith.
{24} Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray,
believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
{25} And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any:
that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.

(Mat 9:27-31 KJV)
And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and
saying,
Thou son of David, have mercy on us.
{28} And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him:
and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this?
They said unto him, Yea, Lord.
{29} Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto
you.
{30} And their eyes were opened; and Jesus straitly charged them, saying,
See that no man know it.
{31} But they, when they were departed, spread abroad his fame in all that
country.

(Mat 6:5-8 KJV)
And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are:
for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the
streets,
that they may be seen of men.
Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
{6} But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet,
and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret;
and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
{7} But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do:
for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
{8} Be not ye therefore like unto them:
for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

(Mat 18:19-20 KJV)
Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching
any thing that they shall ask,
it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.
{20} For where two or three are gathered together in my name,
there am I in the midst of them.

(Luke 11:9-10 KJV)
And I say unto you,
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall
be opened unto you.
{10} For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth;
and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

(John 14:12-15 KJV)
  Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me,
the works that I do shall he do also;
and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
{13} And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do,
that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
{14} If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
{15} If ye love me, keep my commandments.

(John 15:4-9 KJV)
Abide in me, and I in you.
As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine;
no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
{5} I am the vine, ye are the branches:
He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit:
for without me ye can do nothing.
{6} If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered;
and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
{7} If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you,
ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
{8} Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit;
so shall ye be my disciples.
{9} As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you:
continue ye in my love.

(John 15:15-16 KJV)
  Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his
lord doeth:
but I have called you friends;
for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.
{16} Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you,
and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit,
and that your fruit should remain:
that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

(John 16:23-27 KJV)
And in that day ye shall ask me nothing.
Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my
name, he will give it you.
{24} Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name:
ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.
{25} These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs:
but the time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs,
but I shall show you plainly of the Father.
{26} At that day ye shall ask in my name:
and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you:
{27} For the Father himself loveth you,
because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.

THE RAPTURE {CATCHING-AWAY} OF BELIEVERS

MEANING OF THE WORD "RAPTURE"

The "Rapture" is the name given to a Biblically revealed event in which
Jesus Christ descends from Heaven, accompanied by the spirits of all the
saints who have passed on prior to this event, and then the bodily remains
of these saints are transported from the earth to meet the Lord and be
rejoined with their corresponding spirits in the air. Immediately after
this, all Christians alive on the earth are simultaneously transported to
meet the Lord and those who have preceded them in the air. All are
transformed into immortal bodies like Jesus' body, referred to as the
"resurrection body", and then the resurrected ones and Jesus return to
Heaven.

The word "Rapture", when used in Biblical terms, is an English word used in
place of the Latin word raeptius, which is taken from the Vulgate version of
the BIble, which in turn is a translation of the Koine Greek word harpazo,
found in the early Greek New Testament manuscripts of 1 Thessalonians 4:17.
In many modern English translations of the Bible, harpazo is translated;
"caught up", or "taken away". The meaning of "harpazo"[ har-pad'-zo Koine
Greek;] is= "forcibly snatched away", "taken for oneself". Christians, alive
and dead, are therefore "forcibly snatched away" by Jesus at some time known
only to God the Father, and taken to Heaven to be with Jesus forever. The
Bible then says, "Comfort one another  with these words. (1 Thess 4:18 KJV).

THE RAPTURE WAS A HIDDEN MYSTERY IN THE OLD TESTAMENT

(Gen 49:10 KJV)
The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his
feet,
until Shiloh come;
and unto him shall the GATHERING of the people be.

*Note: The word "Shiloh" in the OT,  means "peace, tranquility, propsering".
Shiloh is a Hebrew word for the Messiah.}

ENOCH IS THE FIRST PERSON TO BE RAPTURED IN THE BIBLE, AND THIS OCCURRED
BEFORE THE FLOOD.

(Gen 5:21-24 KJV)
And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat Methuselah:
{22} And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred
years, and begat sons and daughters:
{23} And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years:
{24} AND ENOCH WALKED WITH GOD: AND HE WAS NOT, FOR GOD TOOK HIM.

(Heb 11:5 KJV)
BY FAITH ENOCH WAS TRANSLATED THAT HE SHOULD NOT SEE DEATH;
and was not found, because God had translated him:
for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.

THE FEAST OF "IN-GATHERING"... AN OLD TESTAMENT HINT ABOUT THE RAPTURE

(Exo 23:14-16 KJV)
Three times thou shalt keep a feast unto me in the year.
{15} Thou shalt keep the feast of unleavened bread:
(thou shalt eat unleavened bread seven days, as I commanded thee, in the
time appointed of the month Abib;
for in it thou camest out from Egypt: and none shall appear before me
empty:)
{16} And the feast of harvest, the firstfruits of thy labours, which thou
hast sown in the field:
and THE FEAST OF IN-GATHERING, which is in the end of the year,
when thou hast GATHERED* in thy labours out of the field.

* The Hebrew word for "gathered" means " to receive, to take away, to take
up. Jesus said:

(John 14:1-3 KJV)
Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
{2} In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have
told you.
I go to prepare a place for you. {3} And if I go and prepare a place for
you, I will come again,
AND RECEIVE YOU UNTO MYSELF; that where I am, there ye may be also.

THE NEW TESTAMENT REVELATION OF THE RAPTURE-
WHAT WAS HIDDEN IN THE OLD TESTAMENT IS CLEARLY STATED IN THE NEW

(1 Th 4:13-18 KJV)
But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which
are asleep,
that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
{14} For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again,
even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
{15} For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord,
that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord
shall not prevent {precede) them which are asleep.
{16} For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout,
with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God:
and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
{17} Then we which are alive and remain
shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the
air:
and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
{18} Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

(1 Th 5:1-11 KJV)
  But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write
unto you.
{2} For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a
thief in the night.
{3} For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction
cometh upon them,
as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
{4} But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake
you as a thief.
{5} Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day:
we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
{6} Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be
sober.
{7} For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are
drunken in the night.
{8} But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of
faith and love;
and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
{9} For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our
Lord Jesus Christ,
{10} Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live
together with him.
{11} Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as
also ye do.

JESUS REVEALS THE SIGNIFICANCE OF OLD TESTAMENT EVENTS TO FORE-SHADOW THE
RAPTURE

(Luke 17:26-30 KJV)
And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son
of man.
{27} They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in
marriage,
until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and
destroyed them all.
{28} Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank,
they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;
{29} But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and
brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
{30} Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.

NOTE: In the case of Noah, Noah and his family were rescued by the ark, and
lifted up by the waters out of danger,  while the rest of the people of the
world were drowned. In the case of Lot, God took "righteous Lot" and his
family out of Sodom before He destroyed all the sinners there. In both cases
God rescued the righteous first and then carried out judgement on the
wicked.

THE RAPTURE IS GOD'S PROVISION TO PROTECT BELIEVERS FROM COMING JUDGEMENT.
THIS DEMONSTRATES A CONTINUING PRINCIPAL THROUGHOUT THE BIBLE

(Gen 18:25 KJV)
That be far from thee to do after this manner,
to slay the righteous with the wicked:
and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from thee:
Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?

(Exo 12:7,12-13 KJV)
And they shall take of the blood,
and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the
houses,...
(12} For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night,
and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast;
and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment:
I am the LORD.
{13} And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are:
and when I see the blood, I will pass over you,
and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land
of Egypt.

(Psa 11:4-7 KJV)
The LORD is in his holy temple, the LORD'S throne is in heaven:
his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men.
{5} The LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth
violence his soul hateth.
{6} Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an
horrible tempest:
this shall be the portion of their cup.
{7} For the righteous LORD loveth righteousness;
his countenance doth behold the upright.

(Psa 26:8-12 KJV)
LORD, I have loved the habitation of thy house, and the place where thine
honour dwelleth.
{9} Gather not my soul with sinners, nor my life with bloody men:
{10} In whose hands is mischief, and their right hand is full of bribes.
{11} But as for me, I will walk in mine integrity:
redeem me, and be merciful unto me.
{12} My foot standeth in an even place:
in the congregations will I bless the LORD.

(Luke 17:26-30 KJV)
And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the
Son of man.
{27} They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in
marriage,
until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and
destroyed them all.
{28} Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot;
they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they
builded;
{29} But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and
brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
{30} Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.

(Luke 17:34-36 KJV)
I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed;
the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left.
{35} Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the
other left.
{36} Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other
left.

(Rev 3:10 KJV)
Because you have kept My command to persevere,
I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole
world,
to test those who dwell on the earth.

THE RAPTURE IS ASSOCIATED WITH A CHANGE TO A HEAVENLY BODY

(1 Cor 15:49-58 KJV)
And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image
of the heavenly.
{50} Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the
kingdom of God;
neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
{51} Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all
be changed,
{52} In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump:
for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and
we shall be changed.
{53} For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put
on immortality.
{54} So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this
mortal shall have put on immortality,
then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written,
Death is swallowed up in victory. {55} O death, where is thy sting? O grave,
where is thy victory?
{56} The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
{57} But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord
Jesus Christ.
{58} Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always
abounding in the work of the Lord,
forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

THE RAPTURE IS IMMINENT. ie, LIKELY TO OCCUR AT ANY MOMENT WITHOUT WARNING

(Mat 24:36-39 KJV)
But of that day and hour knoweth no man,
no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
{37} But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man
be.
{38} For as in the days that were before the flood
they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage,
until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
{39} And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away;
so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

(Mat 24:42-44 KJV)
Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.
{43} But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch
the thief would come,
he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken
up.
{44} Therefore be ye also ready:
for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.

(Mark 13:32-33 KJV)
But of that day and that hour knoweth no man,
no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.
{33} Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.

(Acts 1:6-7 KJV)
When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying,
Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?
{7} And he said unto them,
It is not for you to know the times or the seasons,
which the Father hath put in his own power.

(1 Th 5:2-6 KJV)
For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief
in the night.
{3} For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction
cometh upon them,
as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
{4} But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you
as a thief.
{5} Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day:
we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
{6} Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.

(Rev 3:2-3 KJV)
Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die:
for I have not found thy works perfect before God.
{3} Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and
repent.
If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief,
and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.

(Rev 16:15 KJV)
Behold, I come as a thief.
Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments,
lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.

(Rev 22:20 KJV)
He which testifieth these things saith,
Surely I come quickly.
Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

SPIRITUAL WARFARE
"Spiritual warfare" means that as Christians we are under spiritual attack. We have 3 enemies which are determined to make us sin against the Laws of God or to destroy our testimony about Jesus Christ. These 3 enemies are the Devil, the corrupted World system and our own sinful and fallen Flesh.
THE DEVIL
(Ezek 28:11-19 KJV)
Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
{12} Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus{symbolic of
Satan}, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.
{13} Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl,the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the
day that thou wast created.
{14} Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so:
thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.
{15} Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.
{16} By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.
{17} Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness:
I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee.
{18} Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffic; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee.
{19} All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee:
thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more.
(1 Pet 5:8-9 KJV)
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
{9} Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
(John 8:43-44 KJV)
Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.
{44} Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will
do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
THE WORLD
The world system of behavior and laws and governments  has been corrupted by satan, and is powered by his associates, fallen angels. These fallen angels left their first holy estate when satan fell, and they followed him in their rebellion against God. They are now "the power behind the throne" and live to destroy civility and law and order, and present an alternative to God's way of doing things. This world system is attractive to our sinful flesh and lusts, and can destroy people with its deceptive attractiveness. Behind the scenes is a doorway which leads to Hell, as we are led away from God by partying and intoxication and lust that seems so attractive and good and right, and yet is so corrupting and empty.
(Psa 73:3-12 KJV)
For I was envious at the foolish, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.
{4} For there are no bands in their death: but their strength is firm.
{5} They are not in trouble as other men; neither are they plagued like
other men.
{6} Therefore pride compasseth them about as a chain; violence covereth
them as a garment.
{7} Their eyes stand out with fatness: they have more than heart could
wish.
{8} They are corrupt, and speak wickedly concerning oppression: they speak
loftily.
{9} They set their mouth against the heavens, and their tongue walketh
through the earth.
{10} Therefore his people return hither: and waters of a full cup are wrung out to them.
{11} And they say, How doth God know? and is there knowledge in the most
High?
{12} Behold, these are the ungodly, who prosper in the world;
they increase in riches.
(John 16:33 KJV)
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace.
In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
(John 17:11-20 KJV)
And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.
{12} While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.
{13} And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that
they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.
{14} I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
{15} I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that
thou shouldest keep them from the evil.
{16} They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
{17} Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
{18} As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.
{19} And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be
sanctified through the truth.
{20} Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe
on me through their word;
(Isa 13:9-11 KJV)
Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it.
{10} For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give
their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine.
{11} And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their
iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.
OUR SINFUL FLESH
Our flesh became corrupted by the sin of Adam in the Garden of Eden shortly after the time of creation. This sin caused God to put a curse on the whole creation, including pain in child-bearing and "the sweat of our brow" as we did our work to earn a living. Everything on earth degenerated: death was introduced, pain and suffering were now part of life, sorrow and guilt and shame, and numerous other negative emotions and results were added to life that weren't there before. Apart from God the desires of our flesh draw us to seek the pleasures of the world and to forget about God, Holiness and Righteousness and Evangelism.
(Rom 7:4-6 KJV)
Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of
Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.
{5} For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the
law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death.
{6} But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were
held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.
(Rom 7:18-25 KJV)
For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing:
for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.
{19} For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not,
that I do.
{20} Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
{21} I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.
{22} For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:
{23} But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my
mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
{24} O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this
death?
{25} I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.
(Rom 8:1-16 KJV)
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus,
who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
{2} For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free
from the law of sin and death.
{3} For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh,
God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin,
condemned sin in the flesh:
{4} That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
{5} For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
{6} For to be carnally{fleshly, worldly} minded is death; but to be
spiritually minded is life and peace.
{7} Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
{8} So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
{9} But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the
Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
{10} And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
{11} But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in
you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
{12} Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after
the flesh.
{13} For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
{14} For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
{15} For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
{16} The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the
children of God:
This is all very bleak and seemingly unconquerable, except for the power of Christ. Christ conquered the Devil at the cross, He conquered the power of the sinful flesh at the cross, and made available salvation by being born again of the Holy Spirit to followers of Christ. Christ conquers the World by the power of the Holy Spirit over the desceptions of the world, and the power of praying Christians to ask God to make right the wrongs that the world engages in. One day God will eliminate the whole World System, by destroying this world by fire and creating a new Heavens and a New Earth in which righteousness will dwell forever. He will eliminated the flesh by giving us new glorified bodies in the world to come. He will eliminate the devil by casting him and all the demons into the Lake of Fire to be tortured forever, and taking away all power from him to tempt or corrupt anyone ever again.

THE ENEMIES THAT ARE ARRAYED AGAINST THE CHRISTIAN
THE WORLD
(James 4:4-10 KJV)
Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the
world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
{5} Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth
in us lusteth to envy?
{6} But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud,
but giveth grace unto the humble.
{7} Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
{8} Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
{9} Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to
mourning, and your joy to heaviness.
{10} Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.
THE FLESH
(1 Pet 4:1-5 KJV)
Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;
{2} That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the
lusts of men, but to the will of God.
{3} For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will
of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries:
{4} Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same
excess of riot, speaking evil of you:
{5} Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the
dead.
THE DEVIL
(1 Pet 5:8-11 KJV)
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: {9} Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
{10} But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.
{11} To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
INVISIBLE SPIRITUAL FORCES (DEMONS) IN HIGH PLACES OF POWER
(Eph 6:10-12 KJV)
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
{11} Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
{12} For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
------------------------------------------------------
TO HAVE VICTORY AGAINST YOUR ENEMIES LISTED ABOVE, YOU NEED TO EMPLOY...
THE WORD OF GOD
(Eph 6:17 KJV)
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
(Mat 4:4 KJV)
But he (JESUS) answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
THE ARMOUR OF GOD
(Eph 6:13-19 KJV)
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
{14} Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
{15} And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
{16} Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
{17} And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
{18} Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
{19} And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,
FAITH IN THE POWER AND GOODNESS OF GOD
(1 John 5:4-5 KJV)
For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
{5} Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?
CLAIMING CHRIST'S PROMISE OF OVERCOMING
(John 16:33 KJV)
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace.
In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
----------------------------------------------------
A GOOD SOLDIER ENGAGED IN SPIRITUAL WARFARE MUST...
AVOID WORLDLY ENTANGLEMENTS
(2 Tim 2:1-4 KJV)
Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
{2} And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses,the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
{3} Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
{4} No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life;
that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.
USE PRINCIPLES OF SPIRITUAL WARFARE
(2 Cor 10:3-7 KJV)
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
{4} (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
{5} Casting down imaginations{Grk=reasonings, logic}, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
{6} And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your
obedience is fulfilled.
{7} Do ye look on things after the outward appearance?
If any man trust to himself that he is Christ's, let him of himself think
this again, that, as he is Christ's, even so are we Christ's.
(1 Tim 1:18-20 KJV)
This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies
which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare;
{19} Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck:
{20} Of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I have delivered unto Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme.
(1 Tim 2:1-4 KJV)
I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers,
intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
{2} For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
{3} For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
{4} Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
PRAY WITHOUT CEASING
(Eph 6:18-20 KJV)
Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit,and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
{19} And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,
{20} For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
(1 Th 5:16-18 KJV)
Rejoice evermore.
{17} Pray without ceasing.
{18} In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
DENY SELF (SUBJECT YOUR BODY AND DESIRES TO GOD'S USE)
(1 Cor 9:24-27 KJV)
Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the
prize? So run, that ye may obtain.
{25} And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.
{26} I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that
beateth the air:
{27} But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
ENDURE HARDNESS, SUFFERING AND DISCIPLINE
(2 Tim 2:3-4 KJV)
Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
{4} No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life;
that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.
BE SELF-CONTROLLED
(1 Th 5:5-10 KJV)
Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
{6} Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.
{7} For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are
drunken in the night.
{8} But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
{9} For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our
Lord Jesus Christ,
{10} Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live
together with him.
BE ALERT
(1 Cor 16:13-14 KJV)
Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.
{14} Let all your things be done with charity.
WEAR ARMOUR
(Eph 6:11-13 KJV)
Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the
wiles of the devil.
{12} For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
{13} Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
