Getting Rid of A Lack of Knowledge By Bishop Keith A. Butler September 28 Colossians 1:11-12 Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: (KJV) Longsuffering is the character trait needed if you are going to complete God's will for your life. You can have long suffering with joy as you give thanks unto the Father. Always giving God praise and glory helps you to stay joyful, and thereby willing to keep going instead of quitting. An individual who stays full of joy is a person who can stay full of faith. And faith moves the hand of God. "...with all joyfulness giving thanks to the Father, which hath made us able to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light..." Paul is talking about all this knowledge and the depth of it that must be manifest in you. And he is praying for this particular church that they not be ignorant. He is showing them that God has given the Holy Spirit for prayer so that the infirmity of ignorance is knocked out. Romans 12:13 says we are to be continuing instant in prayer... We need to be constantly ready to pray. We don't know exactly everything about the issues that arise in a day. We don't know exactly what to do, and we don't know exactly how to do it. Our first response ought to be to pray about it, instead of all the other type responses we are tempted to do. When we do that, even though we may not have full and complete knowledge, we activate the One that was given to us to assist us. 1 John 2:20 says, "But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things." The unction he is talking about is from the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit fills in the gap of what we don't know when we pray in tongues. No wonder Paul prayed more than the whole church at Corinth. He wanted to fill in the "lack of knowledge" gap. He allowed the Holy Spirit to deal with things perfectly. 1 John 2:27 says, "But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him." Isn't that interesting. Now he doesn't say that you don't need teaching. He is saying you don't need fleshly teaching, because you are getting supernatural teaching. The spirit of God will then begin to teach you or fill in the information gap while you are praying. While you are praying in tongues even for somebody else, God is filling in the gap you have. What you didn't know He starts showing it to you on the inside. Man, no wonder the enemy doesn't want us to pray. The more you pray you help somebody on one end, and yourself on the other end.
