Make A Word Deposit

Matthew 12:35
A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. (KJV)
What do you deposit in your spirit? Do you deposit words that help complete your faith? This verse says a good man out of the good deposit of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil deposit of his heart brings forth evil things.
You see, an evil man cannot speak good things because there is not any good in his heart. The next verse says that every idle, non-productive, or in-operative word that a man shall speak, he shall give account of it in the Day of Judgment, for by your words you shall be justified or by your words you shall be condemned.
In other words, whatever you have deposited into your hearts is what's going to come out of your mouth. You understand this concept; it is like going to the bank.
If you deposit $500.00 in your account and that is all you have in the bank, then you cannot withdraw $1500.00. It does not work that way --you only get out what you put in. If you want $1500.00, then you have to make $1500.00 deposits.
Well, the same is true with God's word, you only get what you put in. So how do you make deposits of faith in your heart? Well, you do it several ways. First, when you go to hear the Word preached you are making a deposit of faith in your heart. However, too many Christians just get a little Word on Sunday, and want to make withdrawals all through the week. By the time they get to the next Sunday, their "faith account" is overdrawn, and they wonder why nothing is working for them.
Another way you make deposits in your heart is to spend time meditating and speaking the Word of God everyday.
I deposit into my spirit every morning. I get up everyday and say what God's word says about me systematically. I quote healing scriptures to my body everyday; I quote scriptures concerning my money, my family, their protection, and their health. Everyday I quote the Word concerning what is going to happen in my life. I just do it period.
You see, it does not matter whether you feel like it or not, I just do it. In order to be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might you have to make plenty of Word deposits.
