Today's Scripture *December 4, 2008*

Romans 6: 1-2
Well then, should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more of his wonderful grace?  Of course not! Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it?

If God loves to forgive, why not give Him more to forgive?
If forgiveness is guaranteed, do we have the freedom to sin as much as we want to?
Paul's forceful answer is "Of course not!"
Such an attitude--deciding ahead of time to take advantage of God--shows that a person does not understand the seriousness of sin and shows their lack of reverence for God. God's forgiveness does not make sin less serious; His Son's death for sin shows us the dreadful seriousness of sin. Jesus paid with His life so we could be forgiven.
The availability of God's mercy must not become an excuse for careless living and moral laxness.

Father God, thank You again for Jesus Christ!
Thank You for loving each one of us so very much that You came and died for our sins!
May we live lives worthy of Your Name. Guide us and guard us as we live out each day.
May we show our love and commitment to You by our love of Your Word and standing behind Your commands.
In Jesus' Righteous Name, Amen..

Be blessed!
April
