Hello Aalie, I was incredibly encouraged this past week by an eight-year-old boy named Deke. This little guy was too young to go on a Mexico missions trip with his church and was terribly disapointed. But this didn't stop Deke from reaching the lost.
Determined to tell others about Jesus, Deke decided to take a Max Missions trip instead. A short while later, Deke had raised enough funds to support his native missionary for an entire year! We placed a picture of Deke and the letter he wrote to his friends and family here.
My prayer is that many others like Deke will also take just a few minutes of their time to take a Max Missions trip so that a native missionary can be sent out to reach the lost for an entire year. If you have any questions about the Max Missions trip, please let us know.
I pray the latest updates below will be a source of encouragement as you continue to pray and support native missionaries in Asia.
For those who've never heard, John Schwartz

Many of you prayed for Paulos, the GFA missionary in Jharkhand, India, who was diagnosed with a rapidly spreading cancer. Last month we reported good news of his miraculous improvement. To God’s glory, Paulos steadily continues to get better. He even surprised GFA leaders with a visit to their Bible college. Yet Paulos still needs to take medicine for his condition. “Continue to pray for his complete healing,?a GFA field correspondent writes. | | From Limping to Rejoicing - 02/27/04
Walking home from a friend's house, Paramjeet began to limp. Her side was hurting again. She'd had an unusual pain there for quite some time. Even the medicines her parents gave her weren't helping.
When she arrived home, Paramjeet went to help her mother in the kitchen. But soon she started crying about her aching side. It hurt when she crouched to stir the fire and when she tried to reach a bowl on a high shelf. For so long, Paramjeet hadn't been able to play with the other children. At times the pain seemed unbearable.
One day Paramjeet told her friend, Elani, about her aching side. A Christian, Elani told her about Jesus, and how He had changed her life. At that moment Paramjeet believed in Christ and received Him as Savior. Elani was so excited and couldn't wait for her friend to meet the local Believers Church pastor, Kulwant.
The kind pastor warmly welcomed Paramjeet. He encouraged her in her new faith and prayed for her healing. When she opened her eyes, Paramjeet was amazed to see her side had stopped hurting. Even on the way home it didn't ache. She couldn't believe it!
When Paramjeet bounced into the kitchen to help, her mother knew something was different. As Paramjeet told her family about Jesus and the man who prayed for her healing, they were astonished and wanted to learn more. They spoke to Pastor Kulwant and soon also asked Christ into their hearts. Running painlessly from family member to family member, all having just joined her in her new faith, Paramjeet must have experienced the happiest day of her life.

| | Hope for a Grieving Heart - 02/26/04
Sarah’s husband died, leaving her so depressed she couldn’t get out of bed for a month.
Though she had three little girls to care for, Sarah had lost the will to live. Then something happened that raised the young Asian woman up. Her father asked a native missionary to visit. The missionary prayed for Sarah and went to see her every day for a week. His kindness and words of hope helped her, and soon she received Christ.
Now Sarah joyfully serves God and works to provide for her family. In the evenings she visits neighboring villages to share the Gospel and pray for the sick. She even distributes tracts at work and gathers other young women together to pray for their nation. Each Sunday, she brings at least two new people to church. A heart for God and a passion for the lost have given Sarah a reason to live.
