Dear Aalie,
How are you doing today? I pray you are well and serving our Lord, the
living and unchanging God.
I wanted to share a wonderful story to you. A story of how God changed
one woman's life in Asia as she simply listened to a radio broadcast. I
pray it will encourage your heart!
Healed in One Night -- June 6, 2004
For 14 years Rajeswari suffered pain from a tumor in her throat. Yet
the Lord healed her in just one night.
As the years passed by, Rajeswari and her family tried every cure
imaginable. “We went to witch doctors and sacrificed chickens and goats to
please our gods,?she said. “But we found no cure. We lost all hope,
expecting only death.?BR>
Sitting at home weeping one day, Rajeswari tuned in to the radio and
heard GFA’s Athmeeya Yathra broadcast. “I was drawn to a beautiful voice
telling about Jesus, who could forgive sins and heal the sick,?she
writes. “The man said, ‘You may be going through many difficulties, even
suffering from incurable disease. God can heal you.’?BR>
Believing the man’s words, Rajeswari joined in prayer. Then, one night
around midnight, her room was filled with light. She heard a voice
saying, “I am the Lord who heals you.?Soon she felt the tumor start to
disappear. The next day everyone marveled at her healing. Rajeswari told
them how God had touched her throat. “And many came to believe in
Jesus,?she says, “just as I did.?BR>
Grace and peace,
John Schwartz

Sandamalee sat in a crowd of her own people, enthralled at what the
team of students was sharing. With everyone around her, she listened
intently to their message of hope and salvation. The students even claimed
that Jesus was the most powerful of all gods, that He alone could save.
Sandamalee’s baby boy began to cry. She got up to carry him around,
knowing it probably wouldn’t do much good. Her small son, Poongavan, had
not slept for the past nine days, and he wasn’t eating either.
Sandamalee was exhausted from trying to comfort him and coax him to eat. More
than that, she was worried about his health. His condition wasn’t normal,
and even the doctors were unable to help Poongavan.
After walking around with her child for a few minutes, Sandamalee
wandered back towards the meeting. Now she saw people standing in the front,
talking to the young men who had been preaching. She wanted to go up
there, too. Something inside her had known this was truth, and she longed
to find out what the men had been talking about.
As she stood there contemplating what to do, her husband approached. He
had heard the message, too, and suggested taking their son up to the
men for prayer. If the God they spoke of was really so powerful, surely
He could heal Poongavan. It was worth a try.
With their crying baby, the couple made their way to the front. They
explained their problem to some of the young men, who listened
sympathetically. The students didn’t seem nervous; they were confident in their
God. They prayed fervently, lifting the family’s needs to the loving God
they serve.
While the students were praying, Poongavan stopped crying. Sandamalee
looked at her husband hesitantly. Was their son healed? The little boy
rested happily in her arms.
Their son slept soundly that night and was soon completely well. The
couple eagerly received Christ. Today Sandamalee and her husband live a
new life with the Lord, ever thankful for His compassion on their child.

http://www.gfa.org/sponsor/index.html > NEWS: (June 3, 2004) "Thirty Long Years" -- Sunil's Photo:
http://www.gfa.org/newsA heavy drinker, Sunil wreaked havoc in the lives of his wife and four
children. Each day, they dreaded the abuse they would suffer.
Earnestly, the family worshipped idols. Yet nothing happened. They knew it would
take a miracle to change Sunil’s heart.
And one day a miracle took place. Weakened by illness, the children’s
grandmother—Prasela—had been confined to her bed for 30 long years. But
a pastor visited her and told her about Jesus. As he prayed for the
frail woman, the Lord healed her.
God used the healing to get through to Sunil. “Amazed at the wonderful
work of God,?his son Pramod writes, “Dad opened his heart to Jesus and
became His child.?Now filled with peace, Sunil went from picking
fights with his family to loving them. He gave up drinking and changed his
lifestyle.
Joy filled the family’s daily life. They wanted to know this Jesus who
so radically changed Sunil’s heart. Each family member received Christ
as Savior and Lord—each person except for one son, Pramod.
Indulging in worldly pleasures, Pramod lived each day as he pleased.
Yet his parents earnestly fasted and prayed for him. “One day,?he
writes, “the Lord convicted me of my sinful way of life.?Thinking over his
life, Pramod saw his need for a Savior and surrendered his heart to
Christ. He became part of a local church and spent time seeking the Lord’s
will.
In answer to God’s call, Pramod, now 21, studies at a Gospel for Asia
Bible college where he’s preparing for full-time ministry to the
unreached. Praise God for a grandmother who was healed after 30 years, a
changed man, and reunited parents who fasted and prayed for their wayward
son.

When Joemon was 15, God spoke to his heart through His Word. Growing up
in a Christian home, Joemon had read the Bible many times before. Yet
this time was different. “My eyes were opened to the truth,?he says. “I
realized I was a sinner and needed to be saved. Right there, I received
Jesus as Savior and surrendered my life to Him.?BR>
Eager to tell others of his salvation, Joemon became part of a local
Believers Church and publicly testified of his faith in Christ. “The days
I spent with my heavenly Father were exciting,?he writes, “and slowly
but steadily I grew to know Him more.?BR>
Meanwhile Joemon started working as a computer operator. But in time he
sensed God’s call to ministry among his people. He gave up his job to
serve for a while with a local missions organization. Praying for
guidance, he again sensed God leading him—this time to go to a GFA Bible
college and prepare for full-time evangelistic outreach.
Today Joemon is a missionary to his people, bringing God’s Word to
those who have never heard the name of Jesus. All praise to God.
