Beauty For Ashes: Isaiah 61:3
He gave me beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning,
the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness.
That we might be trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord,
that He might be glorified.
Give the Lord a praise. Hallelujah. Oh wonderful Jesus.
We have come into His house, gathered in His Name.
We have a promise from the Lord, that where two or more are gathered together in My Name,
He said, there will I be in the midst.
And we know that the Lord is in the midst of His people this morning.
And we know that, whatever we have need of, we can receive it, because He is among us.
Let's sing that little chorus,
We have gathered in His House, we have gathered in this place.
We have come into His house, gathered in His Name to worship Him. We have come into His house, gathered in His Name to worship Him...
Do you know, this is very important.
Let's forget about ourselves, concentrate on Him and worship Him,
let's forget about ourselves, let's concentrate on Him and worship Him,
let's worship Him, Jesus Christ our Lord.
And then the Apostle Paul said these words,
Let's just lift up holy hands, magnify His Name and worship Him,
oh let's just lift up holy hands, magnify His Name and worship Him,
Now while they play softly, let's bring a praise to the Lord.
We bless Thee, Lord. We exalt Thee, we worship Thee. Praise His Name.
The Bible said, "He that endureth till the end shall be saved." Not those that start out on the race, but don't make it to the finish line. But those, who persevere, the prophet said, who press in with everything that we've got. The Bible said, "Heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force."
How many of you know, God's given us a promised land? He's given us an inheritance. He's called us His Bride. He may not just drop it down in our laps. He may not just drop it down from heaven. But He tells us, we can win it if we keep pressing in. How many of you know the Lord has laid up an incorruptible crown for those that serve Him and serve Him and serve Him, and press in with all diligence.
We'll never enter without You, Lord. We've got to have revival in our heart, Lord. We've got a revival. Breathe on us, Jesus. Breathe on us, Lord, or we'll never endure.
Open your Bibles with me this morning to the 61st chapter of the Book of Isaiah.
Isaiah chapter 61, verse 1. And I want to say a few things to you, as we prepare to read the Word.
I know you're familiar with these verses.
The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God: to comfort all that mourn:
To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them (what does that say?) beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise (what kind of garment?) The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness: that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.
Lord, add Your blessings to the reading of Your Word. Give your servant something of inspiration that I might could speak something that would encourage, or correct, or whatever is needed the most. |
