Prayer needs for now:

1. Let's pray for Israel's security
a. Israel's current Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkenazi is under tremendous pressure to know what the IDF needs to do to protect Israel.

- Father, thank You for Ashkenazi, a man who is not afraid of using Your Word when he gives a speech. Give him a deeper hunger for Your Word. (Praise God for people like him!!)

- Lord, the nation has lost it's confidence in our political leaders to lead us to war - or peace. Use Ashkenazi and others like him to help restore that confidence.

- Protect Ashkenazi from both PM Olmert and Defense Minister Barak and from all political ambitions at this time.

- Remove from the IDF general staff all those whose vision for Israel does not line up with Your vision and give godly counsel for Ashkenazi and all the rest of the IDF officers.

- When we look at all the security issues facing this little nation, we can only cry out, "Arise, O LORD; let not man prevail: let the nations be judged in Your sight. Put them in fear, O LORD: that the gentiles may know themselves to be but men. Selah." (Psalms 9:19-20); "Let God arise, let His enemies be scattered: let them also that hate Him flee before Him." (Psalms 68:1)
