A few days ago one of our guests at the Good Shepherd Men's Emergency Shelter came upstairs from the dorm and informed the Night Supervisor he needed to leave. This young man, about 30-35 years of age, informed staff he didn't feel comfortable staying the night. I was doing some cleaning up as my shift was almost over and I noticed the guest and my co-worker were in earnest conversation. My co-worker called out to me asking me to come into the kitchen as he needed to talk to me. It turns out this young man is deeply troubled. He has asked us to pray with and for him. The three of us took each others hands and I was asked to pray. Not knowing the exact nature of this young man's problems I began to pray. After I finished the young man prayed and he sounded very troubled as if he were carrying a heavy burden. I looked at him as he prayed and tears were flowing down his cheeks. Obviousaly very troubled spiritually and I believe emotionally as well. I don't know his situation as I have stated but in spite of any emotional or mental issues he recognized the need for prayer for himself. His prayer suggested he might be carrying a heavy load of sin, of spiritual needs and he cried out to God for forgiveness. After the prayer he thanked us and left and I haven't seen him since or heard of his whereabouts. To say the least I am concerned about his whereabouts. Please pray for him. Unfortunately I don't know his name but God knows who he is. This experience left me in a bit of awe as I have never experienced this in all my years as a Social Worker.
Skypilot I am sending up prayers for this young man. I believe God is working on and in his heart. Thank you for sharing this about him. If you hear any nore. Please let us know. Thank you very much!!
