My Conversion ( Part 2)
Okay here is the second installment on the story of my conversion. As you remember I was working at Mallory's and eating lunch with a couple of Christian ladies. The conversations, prayers and Bible discussions were powerful! And I enjoyed them immensely. There was talk about a baptism in the Holy Spirit. I had never heard about this before. Since the Baptist Church does not teach this experience. But still I searched the Scriptures and found that to be a true and neccesary encounter with God.They shared different scriptures concerning this and it sparked my interest! I would go home after work, and really study the Bible in depth, and began what they talked about, "seeking God". Well I always prayed, but I did not know this thing about "seeking God!" In fact I would even "seek God" while I was taking a shower, while doing the work around the house and even while I was cooking and washing dishes. I felt like I was getting closer to God! So I decided to do some fasting along with my seeking, so I could hear from God, and so that He might reveal Himself to me! One night after coming home from work, the kids were all in for the night and my husband was asleep too, and after a time of prayer and seeking God. I went to bed. While asleep I heard a voice calling my name, so I got up to see who it was, but I did not see anyone at the door or anywhere in the house. So I went back to bed. Then I heard this voice again calling my name, I got up again and looked around, and did not see anyone. I thought I was being a little wierd! Then went to bed again, and heard my name called out again, but I did not get up this time,I really felt at this point that it was the Lord calling my name..and I felt so at peace... so I just said to Him, Yes Lord.. I will write that down. But I had no paper next to the bed to write anything on, and so I thought I would remember what He said in the morning. But when morning came I had completely forgot what He said. It is really important that we would write down things, when we believe He wants to tell us something. Not only for ourselves but also so we might bless other people. I started going with these ladies to some Full Gospel Business Men's fellowship meeting. There were Spirit filled men as speakers, there would be healings and miracles after prayers. Also a wonderful time of worhip, and messages in tongues with interpretations. This interested me completely. Since I knew how to speak Dutch, Fries, and English, surely someone (if it was real) would speak in one of those languages and I would know for sure that this was real. Well I will talk about this again in the next post, so come back and find out what happened..! See you next time!! Love, Aalie |
