I dont know why, but I have just been sitting here and I feel like God has just been putting this on my heart lately.
I have had someone that I have been helping out lately with a struggling in her faith. She says she thinks he faith is bi-polar. Because when she gets into the Bible and praying and etc. she feels so happy and she knows that this direction is the right one for her. (By the way this girl is coming back to Christ after having fallen away from Him once.) And then she says but she when shes not looking, and shes doing her every day things going about her buisness, she starts doubting again. And then pride kicks in (or as I would say naturally the want to be in control) and she wants to do what she wants to do and and love God and that be enough. Well when I was talking to her I told her that I understand, because its natural for everyone to feel that way. It's part of human nature to want to be in control. Then I go on to say, there's an assumption out there that when you become a Christian everything is just dandy and peachcream, but thats not true. In fact being a Christian can be found being harder than a non-christian because its a challenge. And being a Christian is not an easy challenge. When we accept Christ into our life's, we are then surrendering our life to Him, we are no longer in the driver seat of our lives, He is the driver of our lives. When we accept Him into our hearts we are set apart from the world, and are to live that way. We are not to be of the world. It's a challenge now a days with what
we all have to face. As humans we will not always succeed and in fact at some time we may fall a little. But who is the one who has mercy unfailing and mercy so great and forgivness that is constant? The answer to that would be God. No matter what we are His children, and He will always be there to pick us up when we fall and just hold us in His arms. And if you think about it, we as Christians have so much to be thankful for. And we have so much to be thankful for because of God. So the least that we could do for God is surrender our life to Him and allow Him to direct our lives and just live for Him at neckbreaking speed (which means non-stop and now). We need to take responsibility now for the commitment that we have made to God, and we need to surrender our lives to Him and stop living for us and start living for Him. We need to stop saying, there's always tomorrow and there's always later because sorry to break it to you but we aren't promised another min., and other second, or another breath. We need to get serious and live for him.
A quote that I think everyone should live by is, "Life is too short to not take Jesus at His Word" - Scott Bostick. Scott Bostick was my middle school principal who died in January, unexpectedly. See everyone we arent promised another day. We need to stop giving excuses, God sacrificed His ONLY son for us and Jesus died for us willingly, He knew what Had to be done and did it for us. He died for us so that He could live with us. And now we need to live for Him. Lets start becoming set apart from this world and start showing people what real and true Christians are like. The world needs God and we are the ones responsible to show Him to them.
I am going to close this off in a prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, I pray that you would help all of us now that we would start living for your Lord. That we would renew our commitment to you Lord and live for you stonger than we ever have before Lord. I pray that you will
just help us and guide us and direct us in your way Lord. Lord I pray that when we feel that we are being tempted or directed in the wrong path that you will just help us to keep our eyes and our focus on you and that you will just help us to overcome the temptation Lord. Lord with you all things are possible, and I pray that you will give us a desire in our hearts to live after you and just to become like you and just to live for you at neckbreak speed, and to never stop. Lord I pray that you will help us when we fall, and pick us up and renew our strength, for you Lord are our strength. Lord I just pray a blessing upon everyone today. And I pray that you will just help everyone and protect everyone today. In your name I pray. Amen.
