NEW KING JAMES VERSION

JAMES 1: 19-21

"So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God.

Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls."

You know, most people are so busy talking, because they want themselves to be heard, that they never really hear anyone else. You must prepare your heart in order to receive all that God wants you to learn. If you would only listen, God has much to say to you, and He will whisper it to you, gently and lovingly, and He will sometimes use other people, speaking through them, to you. You must receive God’s word, not just hear it. But first you must start by being quiet enough to hear it.

In our busy day to day lives we are flooded with one overwhelming task after another. We rush from the time we rise in the morning until we finally settle down to go to bed in the evening. Get the kids ready, get the coffee going, make that call, cancel that appointment. Did we pay that bill? When is my dentist appointment? Did Billy remember his homework? Did Sally remember her retainer?

God looks down and watches all of this as we scurry about in our day to day tasks. He is ready and willing and eager to be a part of our lives if we only would seek Him in all of these things. He desires to help. He desires to bless us with all that He has to offer, and Oh, how much He can offer!

"Delight yourself also in the Lord,

And He shall give you the desires of your heart."

Psalms 37:4

Seek our heavenly Father from the first second you awaken in the morning. Share with Him what you have planned for that day and ask for His discernment in any matters you are pondering. Ask for His blessing in all that you are about to do and ask Him to be an active participant in your life and your families life. Then focus your thoughts on Him throughout the day as you go about your daily tasks. Include Him in all that You do, He wants to share your life with you fully, He loves you dearly!

Your attitude will prepare your heart to receive the Word of God. Be quiet enough and still enough and He will speak to you. But also, be careful in what you say. Remember the tongue can be a sharp instrument! Your words can cut like a knife, or soothe and uplift the person they are directed at. Be calm in your life, and don’t fly off the handle at the drop of a hat. And foremost of all, be clean. Live a wholesome life, not in the way of the world but in the way of Christ. Choose to walk an obedient lifestyle, no matter what the peer pressure is or what the rest of the crowd thinks, devote yourself to obeying the Word of God.

"…lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls."

Lastly learn to be compliant, that is, reachable. Be humbled and yielded to the Word of God and receive God’s wisdom. Be open to His word, drop your guard and receive all that God wants to give you, but the key here is, receive it. It is there for the taking, remember God gave us all a free will, so we must receive all that He has to offer, by our own choice. Choose to do the right thing in Christ, and become more like Christ.

"Father in heaven help me to open my heart to receive all that You want me to have. Help me to live a clean life Lord by giving me a clean heart, honoring You in all that I do, that I may become more like Christ in my life. Share with me every aspect of my life, Lord, I want You in control. I stand firm in Your word that "You, who have begun a good work in me, will continue that work, ‘til the day of Jesus Christ! Thank You Father for blessing me, In Jesus?Name, AMEN.

May the peace and wisdom of knowing Jesus Christ be yours, Rev. Michael <:))><

Another great message Michael! Yes we do get to busy from time to time and
we crowd God out of our lives at times. We need to be still before Him and listen to His voice. At times we need to just get away from all, and spend time alone with Him.  Thanks for sharing!!

Love, Aalie
