God tells us in the pages of the Bible to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. I believe when we do that, we are actually praying for our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to come back to earth. I believe that because Jesus is the Prince of Peace. There will be no peace on this earth until our Lord and Saviour returns to establish it.
God says you can receive a blessing if you pray for peace in Jerusalem.
"And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee : and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed."
Genesis 12: 3 (KJV)
"I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the Lord, keep not silence, And give Him no rest, till He establish, and till He make Jerusalem a praise in the earth. "
