Sifting through sand has unearthed many treasures of historical importance...pot shards, shells with holes drilled for hanging as adornment or for fitting onto a stick for a spoon or other implement. Bones, fish scales, seeds and other debris give evidence of what animals and fish the natives used for food. The Grayton Beach meteorite was found buried in a midden...raising many questions as to, "Why?" Other native peoples revered the stones from the sky.
