I've been offline for some 18 months, and now that I'm back and have some time, I decided to learn how to make some of the marvellous gifs and things that I see you all use on the boards. I went exploring along the sidebar, and I really don't know what to do or where to start!

Do you have some suggestions for a complete newby to this? Thanks!

Abby

Abby,
Welcome back!
I use Print Shop Pro for my tags and pics.  You can download a free version that will work for, I think, 60 days.  I will get some tutorials for you if you let me know where you are with graphics art.  Have you ever used PSP or Photoshop?

This is a good tut to learn what all the stuff is for PSP 7, I don't know if you can still download PSP 7 or not, but I'm still looking.  Most of the icons are the same for all.

Hi Sherry ... thanks for the quick reply!!

I actually worked with graphics a lot for several years, as I did curriculum development for a training facility, and then worked for a software development company doing the "help" files and on-line training manuals. However, I worked mainly creating drawings in AutoCAD, and also manipulating photos. I used Photoshop extensively, and as a matter of fact, currently have Photoshop Elements on my computer, as I couldn't afford the full-blown Photoshop program.

I have never used Print Shop Pro, but I will see about downloading the trial version.

Thanks again, Sherry!

Abby

Abby, PSP9 is still kinda shaky for me too.. I did find some tuts for it tonight, These look like pretty good "begin here" tuts..
If you can get PSP8, it is almost exactly like 7, just some tweeks that some think make it better.  I still prefer PSP7.
If you want, email me   [email protected]   ..I'll leave this addy up for a couple of days.
Try this site- Most of the tools are the same on all versions.  This will give ya a start.

Here's a free trial download for PSP8. I don't know whether it's a good place or not.

Here is another site that has some nice beginner tuts.  PSP 8 isn't bad to learn.  If you need any help, just holler.
