more snags in the pressie album if anyone wants them. I'll leave them for a month or so, then I will have to delete them for storage space reasons. Take any you want... Enjoy |

Sherry, I got In My Prayers. Thanks, it's really pretty. Question--Yours is 28 kb, my pc is goofy and saves everything as .bmp, so this saved at 422 kb. I took it to my picture program, Microsoft Picture It, re-saved it as .gif and it is 78.5 kb. What on earth is doing that, do you know? I have done all of the microsoft suggestions for fixes and nothing has worked. I have to re-save every single thing I put in here. Some genealogy things save at 3 or 4 mb and I can't get them to a low .gif without losing the ability to read them. It is actually worse now, as far as file saving size, than it used to be but the pc runs good and my programs work ok. I have plenty of space in the pc for huge stuff, but my passports don't have much room to spare. Annie |

Annie, It could be the properties of your microsoft picture it program that is saving it as .bmp. Have you tried resetting those? Most of the pics in Microsoft pic it saves as .mix photos and I always have to covert those to .jpeg .some things I try to save wont save except as .art or bitmap. A pain.......... I could zip and email to you if they will open as jpeg that way.....or I can save as .gif if they will open that way. Which ever you prefer.... Sherry |

Sherry, Thanks, but I have been redoing these things for year. I can almost do it in my sleep. I will check the settings though. I see lots of complaints and Microsoft even has a page about the problem. Their fix hasn't worked for me but maybe yours will. I'll let you know. |

I can't find any place to change settings in Pic It. I did find this again I have done it many times but will do it again and see if it works this time. Apparently it's an IE 6 problem in XP. It is an aggravating problem because I get so many 2 to 4 MB files from a friend and when I save them I have to go thru this mess many times a day to get the file size down to an acceptable size. I have AOL, and I use Microsoft Picture it Express 2001. I don't like the other versions of picture it....they don't seem to be as easy to use... I'm glad everyone likes them....Use any you want to...... Sherry:) |
