" In our willingness to give that which we seek, we keep the abundance of the universe circulating in our lives." Deepak Chopra
The year 2007 finds the planet that signifies transformation of perspective and consciousness, Pluto, crossing back and forth over the Galactic Center ( G.C.) at 27 degrees of Sagittarius. This is the gravitational heart of our galaxy and a dynamic source of infrared radiation. It is also a degree associated with the "shaping of things". Every year between November and January the Sun, Moon, Mercury and Venus pass over this point stimulating the Holiday's celebratory consciousness. These, the so-called 'personal planets', stimulate the desire to connect with others. When a planet crosses the G.C. its energy is 'radiated' throughout the galaxy and specifically influences our root chakra and subconscious processes on a personal as well as global level. The G.C. can provide penetrating, direct, instructive information to those who practice quieting the mind and opening themselves to higher consciousness while remaining grounded . With Pluto presently on this point, the information could be somewhat mysterious, intense, perhaps uncomfortable, revolutionary and perspective expanding. Pluto opens us up to hidden sources of knowledge and wisdom. One may view the world in a new context as a result. Pluto can also stimulate ones fears and the defense mechanisms that were established as a child to keep one safe in a seemingly overwhelming world. These defense mechanisms use tremendous energy and must be recognized for what they are; anxiety about a perceived threat. Fear dwells in a perception of the future, abducting us from the Now just as Pluto abducted Persephone, a goddess associated with innocence and beauty. The balance to any Pluto aspect is to connect with one's appreciation of what is and one's sense of beauty. Beauty and appreciation always live in an awareness of the Now, as does one's point of Power. For the next 3 months we will experience many planets triggering Pluto on the Galactic Center with the New Moon eclipse in March providing again greater emphasis. The stimulus is to let go of what is unethical, unwholesome and fear based. The Sun, or Star player, in the 2007 New Year's chart is positioned between Venus the planet of love and Pluto the planet of passion, indicating that there is an intensification of desires occurring. To be conscious of the essence of what it is you truly desire and to let it guide you has great power. The word 'desire' in Latin means, of the stars, which, to the ancients were the primary navigational guides for the world.
Some astrologers, due to Pluto's gloomy symbolism as ruler of the underworld and death, predict a time of tragedy for humanity, yet Pluto is also associated with bestowing the blessings hidden in the Earth. Pluto was also known as Dis or Orcus, the giver of wealth. Pluto's name means "rich one". We may find that as a result of Pluto in Sagittarius, a knowledge and law orientated sign, that Earth centered sciences, philosophies, politics, and consciousness expand as greater validations of the Gaia hypothesis emerge. I prefer to think as Wayne Dyer who wrote so wonderfully, "No one knows enough to be a pessimist."
The March 18th and September 11th solar eclipses of 2007 will be strongly tied to the G.C. indicating that ceremony and meditation could be even more powerful. The time of 6:05 Am MST on the 3/18 date puts the G.C. directly overhead while 7:20 PM does so on the 9/11 date. Meditations of peace are particularly needed at the autumnal eclipse, as the planet of war, Mars, is highly elevated in its chart.
Each of us can benefit by examining our thinking. Do you view the cup as half empty or half full? Are you grateful for what you have or do you find yourself focusing on what you think you lack? "Whether you believe you can or can not, you are right!"* This is a time where one's conscious thoughts take less time to manifest, so choose the good ones.
January 2007
New Years eve and day begin with the Moon in gregarious Gemini and energetic Mars in a mellowing and sentimental link to Neptune. The Moon's connection with Jupiter can predispose one to over indulgence, so if you are out and imbibing be sure to have a designated driver. The first week of January features the sedate Cancer Full Moon at 6:57 AM MST on Jan. 3rd. This is a time for snuggling up at home and balancing your checkbook after the extravagances of the holidays. Venus moves into amicable Aquarius late in the evening supporting teamwork and creativity in the weeks ahead. From 1/11-1/14 (the 13th exact) the planet of war, Mars, joins with Pluto on the G.C. indicating a potentially volatile time and / or days of intensely focused energy. Mercury joins Venus in friendly Aquarius on 1/15 while rambunctious Mars enters stable Capricorn on the 16 th, toning down the dramatics and energizing productive focus. The Capricorn New Moon occurs on Thursday 1/18 at 9:01 PM supporting concentration and manifestation. With so many planets in the sign of Aquarius at this New Moon, there is a strong future orientation. Group dynamics can be helpful by enhancing motivation and clarity as long as you have a 'heart' connection to the group itself. On 1/20 the Sun joins the planetary alignment in resourceful Aquarius. Aquarius is the sign of intellectualization and originality. The need for self-determination is strong in this sign. Issues around authority may arise in the days and weeks ahead as several of the planets face off with restrictive Saturn. Jupiter and Uranus, planets that strongly favor freedom and unmitigated experiences are at odds with each other from 1/20?/23 indicating issues around personal freedom and conformity may arise. Venus enters romantic and compassionate Pisces on 1/27 while Mercury's link with Neptune can add an element of inspiration or misunderstanding in communications, this is not a good time to make assumptions, strive for clarity.
