I use to be a very active member of this diabetes group but have not participated in a few years. I was very shocked to see Voni and Tammi passed away. I had many emails from Tammi who helped me understand this dreadful disease, diabetes.
Voni, too, was a loving kind person who was always there for me.

I moved and also got a new knee, cataracts removed and basal cell carcinoma removed from my face and neck and the new cancer all in one year.  But what I would like help with in April 2008 I was diagnosed with adenocarcinoma clear cell in the vagina. Since my operation, radiation, etc my a/c1 was gone to 8.4 from 7.2 and my glucose readings are always high in the 200's and above. Occasionally, I will drop very low and have to do the orange juice, etc.
Has anyone else had this kind of reaction/problem with diabetes and cancer. Of course, I have not been able to exercise, walk, etc and am always tired.
Please share your experience with me. Thanks
Bun

Hi Bun!!
It is good to hear from you.. when I saw your msn Nickname on a thread I just smiled...
It is so sad we have lost some family members here over the years... We lost others that I am not sure you knew that well or not.. Nancy and Nana..

Sorry to hear of your recent health issues especially with the cancer of this year.. I've not had cancer but I am sure just like with any illness our numbers due tend to run high when under stress and sick... Wondering if any of your meds for the cancer might have an effect on your numbers..
and of course not being able to be as physically active as you used to be~
I do hope someone will have some experience to share with you and see your message.. on how their numbers respond when treating cancer...
Sending hugs and hopes that your cancer is gone now...
do hope you will pop whenever you can to catch up more and let us know how you are doing...
Any suggestions from your docs on how to bring those numbers down where they used to be?
Keep smiling,
Cuddles/Kathy

Hi, I am a diabetic also on insulin. I was operated for basil cell carsinoma also on my nose and last March I was operated on for breast cancer. I had many lows and highs during my radiation treatments. However with my Dr's help I have it pretty well under control now. I was told it was so much stress I was under that caused my problems. It took almost 2 years and I still do not have perfect results I am constantly adjusting my food and insulin. I don't think it's ever ideal for us., I wish you well. Take care and nice to meet you.
