At some time in the life as as a diabetic everyone and anyone will get a bruise every now and then.
But if you are getting a lot of bruising you need to go get your injection technic sp!checked out.
Some time excessive bruising is caused by aneamia so worth checking that too if injecting ok.
Hope that helps

Yep!  Like Sarah said.  It can also be caused if you are taking aspirin or any other type of med that thins the blood.  Just another idea.

Hi,

It's been a while since I last posted with problems controlling my BS levels of my Type 2 diabetes. I'm overweight, but coming down in size nicely. I also suffer from Cirrhosis of the Liver. I'm male caucasean and am aged 48(or will be on Tuesday  ).

The good news is that I have now started injecting myself last week - 3x per day with NovoRapid and a NovoPen 3 loaded with 8.00mm (5/16") fine needles. My BS levels are now absolutely great and within the prescribed limits! My morning sugars are now around 90 - 100 which I'm rapped about considering they used to be up over 200!

My problem ia also that I develop a bruise every time I inject, these average about 15mm (5/8") diameter and dark red/blue. The injection zone I use is my stomach.

Does anyone else have or had in the past, the same problems?

If anyone can suggest a remedy or preventative method, I'd love to hear it.

Cheers for now from the Shaky Islands of New Zealand,

Dave

I use to bruise all the time. I use my stomach too. I dont know what the difference is but since I use the INOVO injector I havent had one bruise. It might be the difference in neddles or it could be the injector itself. I have been useing it for over a year now.

Hi there

I was told that when you bruise its because you are either pinching the area to hard …or…you have hit a vein and caused the brusing?or you have jabed the needle in to hard…that was from my diabetic manager hope this helps

I bruse often, my dr.said it is caused by small viens inside the skin, they get punctured by the needle and cause brusing. It's not serious and goes away after a while.. In my case I used to bruse more often when I first started taking insulin . Saphire

p.s. You have to be sure you keep the needle at the same angle , straight in and out don't tip it.  Saphire
