Sheryl suggested I start a journal.
I'm going to take her advice.

Don't know how much I'll write, I'm
getting tired  Need to get some rest.

October has always been a rough
month for me.  Four years ago in
October I lost my lifelong friend to
Breast Cancer.  It was so hard to
see Mary suffering so much.  We
had been friends since we were in
2nd Grade.  She has one son and
was married to Rich for 36 years.
The last time I saw her, she had lost
her voice and couldn't communicate
at all.  She did smile and seemed
happy we were there.  Afterwards,
Rich and Sean talked to us in the
hallway.  They had told them that
afternoon that Mary had less than
one month to live.  My other best
friend & I cried.  We couldn't be
loosing Mary.  She was just 57
years old.  Her Mom had died from
Breast Cancer when we were 21.
Mary never wanted to get a mammogram
because she was afraid she would be
diagnosed with Breast Cancer.  Before
this, she had a severe strock.  She was
in a nursing home for a month.  When
she recovered, she had to use a cane.
She was too young for this to  have
happened.

Got an e-mail tonight from Sean.  They
had been trying to adopt for a couple of
years.  They tried in-vitro and that failed.
They went to several adoption agencies.
Now they are going to adopt a Russian
Baby.  We're so excited for them.  Rich
will be a Grandpa for the first time.  I
know Mary is watching down on them.
We are going to give them a big shower
after the baby is born.

To be continued....
Beth
