I've just started on Januvia. I only started yesterday and my fasting BG this morning was down 75 points; in fact, after I took the first pill yesterday I saw my BG coming down slowly throughout the day.
From what I've read on other sites it does seem like this drug is either a wonder drug or a disaster, depending on the patient. Does anyone have any stories to share? |

I use it also, along with Actos & metformin, however I've been having a problem controlling my sugars - of course, it could be all the bad food I've been eating ;^). Seriously though, I've been having trouble controlling my sugars with Januvia. |

I read this on their site : http://www.janumet.com/sitagliptin_metformin_HCl/janumet/consumer/index.jsp Important Information About JANUVIA JANUVIA has not been studied with insulin and should not be used to treat patients with type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis (increased ketones in the blood or urine) or used if you are allergic to JANUVIA. Your doctor may perform blood tests from time to time to measure how well your kidneys are working. If you have kidney problems, your doctor may prescribe lower doses of JANUVIA. When JANUVIA is used with a sulfonylurea, low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) can occur. To avoid this risk, your doctor may prescribe lower doses of the sulfonylurea. |
