I finally saw the high risk/tlc clinic endocrinologist for my pregnancy.
Because my a1c's have been awesome for the prior 6 months (year) And because even now my a1c is normal (5.6), the risk of birth defects from the diabetes is almost normal. She said it was increased by 0.01%. SO even though this was a very unplanned pregnancy, the babies should be ok. I have to still have a level 2 ultrasound (two hours away), in October. I'll have frequent ultrasounds checking on them and their sizes.
So far so good, no issues, other than the cyst, and that seems to be getting smaller or at least less painful.

Teri, Congrats! All that you do for those babies is worth it - I found pregnancy the hardest time for my diabetes, because my sugars would drop (with NO warning) all the time during the first half of the pregnancy and then my need for insulin would slowly rise during the last half. It required constant monitoring, but I had 3 absolutely perfect babies due to the hard work that my docs and I put into it all. (Now they are teenage girls, and I am pulling my hair out!) But, anyhow, keep up the good work and always remember the reward of those perfect little ones at the end of the ordeal!! Ann (pottervb) |

Teri,,,,, thank you for keeping us updated on how you and your little Blessings are getting along. What excellent news on the A1C's and their affects on the babies. Also very happy to hear that the cyst is less painful for you now,,,,,, praying it continues to be that way for you. Ann is right,,,,,,,, all the hard work will be so richly rewarded when you are holding those angels in your arms. Stay strong,,,,,,,,, and know we are thinking of you,,,,,, Heart Hugs, Cuddles/Kathy |
