For the men out there, just wondering did you have any problems getting your wife/girlfriend pregnant because of type 2 diabetes? I'm wondering because I have been married for 1 1/2 years and most of the time I have not been on birth control and I am still not pregnant. I know everything is okay on my end so I was just wondering if it was possible that diabetes effects men's fertility? Don't get me wrong I am not really looking to get pregnant anytime soon. But this has been on my mind the past few days. Any and all help is appreciated! Thanks, Carley |

Carley Hope you don't mind....but I'm gonna try to answer from what I understand (not that much LOL!) With advanced diabetes, men have troubles with impotence from nerve damage. I'm not sure if this affect fertility or not. And I'm guessing from your age (on your profile) that your husband is also young, and probably not having any such problems. When you decide to get pregnant, your husband may need to see a specialist to diagnose whether he has any fertility issues. Hope some of the men will see your post and be more helpful! BTW~ The picture of your bands on your profile is just beautiful! sheryl |

Actually my husband is 7 years older than me! He is 27 and I am 20...21 in a month. Hmm I don't really know the proper way to say this so if this is wrong please one of the managers delete it or tell me and I will delete it. His desire for intimacy is very high but if we are intimate more than twice a week, he has to use a special ointment for his genital area because it hurts. It's called Clotrimazole and Betamethasone Dipropionate Cream. Whew, what a mouth full...lol. But I've noticed for the past month that he hasn't had to use it a lot because we have been a little more active and his BG levels have not been as high. Thank you Sheryl. --Carley |
