I've found that eating high-protein meals like fish, steak, burgers means that half of the protein grams end up as "carbs" many hours later. So, if I eat some fish with 50g carb, that means that I will have a 25g carb effect on my blood sugar about 5 hours later. My doc says "we've seen "some" diabetics with this, and my dietitian seems to think this is uncommon.
have other diabetics here had high sugars after high protein meals?
