I love whole grain breads... and I think Nature's Own brand is very good both in taste and in calories.

Wonder makes lite variety of it's breads 40 calories per slice. I use the Italian and the wheat. It's probably not as good as the bread Babs suggested but I can get it at the bread store for a dollar a loaf and the calories are exactly right! LOL I am going to check out the Nature's Own Brand!

Weight watchers has some low bread stuff. I like the grain breads. Not into plain white bread.  bonnie

I've got this idea swirling around in my head about using tortillas instead of bread.Ya'know, put the filling on one tortilla & roll it up.Wonder how that would work.

That is a good idea, CC.  A corn tortilla is 30 to 70 calories. Flour is a bit more at 50  on up.
I have made sandwiches , including hamburgers, using just lettuce as the wrap.
I also make sandwiches open face.

The nature's own bread I like is only about 50 calories a slice... they also have an even lighter version that is 40...

These products have no preservatives and are all natural...

Bread is my down fall. Thick crusty sour dough , with sweet butter.
mmmmm
Almost any but the fluffy white of childhood.
