Have you ever done laundry and accidently had a red shirt in with the lights? I normally use colorguard in the wash but didn't this one time. I did my sons laundry and he had a new shirt evidently in the wash that was red. It made two of his white polo shirts pinkish and his dress shirt a light pinkish hue. The two polos can be bleached lightly but am afraid to do it to his dress shirt that has multi colors of black, gray and white stripe. Any suggestions?

I did it when I was first married at 20.........turned all the hubby's white fruit of the loom undies and t-shirts pink!  I don't remember what I did back then about it but I know we couldn't afford new ones......it became a joke for awhile.  Clorox probably did it.

RIT DYE makes a color remover especially for that situation.  I don't know the exact name of it...but it says on the package that that's what it's for.  I have used it and it works great!  TRose

Robyn- I rmember my Mom doing that to my Dads things and he had pink t-shirts for  while. LOL!

T-Rose- That would be fine on the whites only. On the dress shirt it would probably stip the colors out.

CC- Duct tape your mouth shut!!! LOL!! Just kidding. I do know better but I was hurrying.

I guess I will chance filling the washer up at super load and putting a small amount of bleach in it and see what happens. If I ruin his shirt I will just buy another one.

Does making gravy green count. I had to dry a dress green for school. I used my dm's turkey roaster. I didn't wash it too good. She put the turkey in the oven When she went to baste it, she saw green. We had canned gravy that year.

Well I tried the small amount of bleach in a super load of water and ruined my sons Italian Boss shirt that cost me $95. It is now pinky red and cannot be worn. LOL! I told him to go buy another one since its my mistake. I bought him a large supply of Shout It Outs ColorGuard.

If you don't dry it you can soak in hot water and oxy clean that will usually do it however if you dried it forget it.  Trish
