the man who according to news reports back in 2002 was supposed to journey to through the earth as part of an experiment to set the record straight on the hollow eath theory.

maybe he didnt go? couldnt get the funds together? i found theres absolutly nothing on the web on the outcome and very little information about this man.all i found is some forum posts talking about it and some rumours he disappeared!? literally!!

which dosnt add up? surely if they couldnt get the funds for the expedition there would have been some sort of press release? if he went and came back again ,there would have been a press release also.but none of which i could find anywhere on the net which leads me to the conclusion he is now classified as a missing person? and he either went missing during the expedition or before he went?

what sparked my interest was a coast to coast show ,check what is said at the end of the interview http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PD6POOwMcjU

quote:
"we have a past guest who has disappeared" and "no-one can find him"

??

the interview with dr.brooks is dated feb 16th 2007 ,where the above quote was announced on air. this is big length of time between dallas thompson's original press release (end of 2002) and the subsequent 'proposed' expedition in may 2003 to the interview with dr.brooks in 2007.

and not much on the web to show what ,if anything?? has happened! the interviewer also states in that clip that dallas was a guest on a past show ,here is the show:

afaik there is no audio for this show? couldnt find the show archived on youtube either.

??

Maybe he collected (raised the money), via a scam of some sort, and is busy vacationing in Cancun

Hard to say, there are so many scam artists around, but IF we could find his date of birth, we might have something here.
Sounds like a scam artist to me?

Here are a few links I found...............

EXPEDITION TO GIANT HOLE IN EARTH PLANNED

FOLSOM, Calif. (Wireless Flash) -- A California man is
looking for investors to help him search for a hole in the
planet that supposedly connects the North and South Poles and
other points on Earth.
Hollow Earth researcher Dallas Thompson plans to prove
his theory with an expedition to Alaska next summer, but he
first needs at least $100,000 to purchase a mini-helicopter
that will be used to traverse the hole.
Thompson plans to enter the northern hole and then fly
out through another opening which he believes will lead to a
Tibetan village that supposedly inspired the mythical
"Shangri-La" in the novel "Lost Horizon."
Not all Hollow Earth researchers believe Thompson will
make it, though, as some maintain the hole only goes to
Antarctica.

Geez - I wish I weren't such a "skeptic",  of some things and yet so open to UFOs, etc. (even before I saw one flying down my own street!!).....I use to believe in them.

But anyway, here is a book he obviously made money from:

(I think it came out in 2005?)......

here is some cute drawings, of people going into the "hollow earth".
(see the 2nd page for the upside down men)

Actually, in a very famous UFO case in Canada years ago, there were some people in this small fishing town, who DID see the UFO go "into the water and never come out".......bringing about repeating speculation that somewhere in the core of the earth, lies, a whole civilization.....

thats good research deb

yea it did cross my mind that it was a hoax, infact the whole theory i thought was ridiculous until i thought about it more, hardly anyone has visited this area of the globe as its so isolated same for the south pole, the interesting thing is we are constantly being surprised at where ecosystems are being found, for example scientists are finding life in the deepest parts of the ocean ,in places where there is no light from the sun, these lifeforms are actually part of a small ecosystem in a place thought uninhabitable.

so perhaps maybe there is some truth to it,its difficult to actually tell,so im looking at various different sources to make up my mind on this.

my intial thoughts were ,maybe he went but perished in the cold weather like so many other explorers have done.maybe he went and found something there but never returned (hes living there) or maybe he was abducted/murdered before he went?

according to amazon, it looks like that book came out in 2002? before he went then? or the date planned to go ,there are 2 other books with the names dallas thompson associated with it ,amazon says these are revised books though? and the original copies were written by someone by the name 'henry dallas thompson' who lived and published work in the late 1800's? a reprinted copy of a book by someone else then?

neither of these authors are in the wikipedia. apart from here where henry appears on someone else's page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henry_Burchard_Fine

the link to the global ideas site is more intrieging, i couldnt see any date for that actual post so perhaps it also could have been made before the expedition?

^this site is interesting as it talks alot about a 'rapture' .in which people need to be prepared for. i dont hink this is his site though? as when i searched through all the pages in the site i couldnt find his name anywhere,it dosnt appear in the website?
also it dosnt say anything about a journey to the north pole?

I think the guy is a total scam artist and that's why we cannot find anything whatsoever about him any longer.

The U.S. is full of them, and IF that's his web site, he's easily seen as a nut case too.(IMO)

so it looks like he probably took that money that was paid to him for his so called helicopter and ran off with it.
like you say its a shame we cant see his natal chart as im sure it would reveal some interesting data.

this act then of ripping everyone off ,has probably done more to discredit a theory which is already having difficulty being investigated.as there are many other people ,both scientists and thinkers that believe and wish to honestly investigate it.

the artic explorer admiral peary once sighted land during one of his expeditions, located in a very remote place it was named by him as crockerland, this place north of greeland and beyond the great ice barrier has been very difficult to find.
one of the problems is that it is frequently covered in fog so it makes it difficult to be fully visable.the exact location is thought to be at latitude 83 deg. N and longitude 103 deg. W. this is where admiral peary sighted and noted it.
nearly 100 years later and we still have only a photo of this land, many explorers of the artic have strange accounts of animals venturing north in the winter ,instead of south they are going to an area which is thought to be warmer in the north?

surely the united states ,russia and other countries bordering the north pole know about this strange area and with all the technology these days must have investigated it, so why have we not been informed about it? is there something 'there' maybe?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crockerland

Crockerland is alleged to be a huge island, geographically off northern Greenland and beyond the Great Ice Barrier, which may be a reflection of actual terrain. In 1909 the Arctic explorer Admiral Peary sighted land north-west of Ellesmere Island and named it "Crockerland". He thought it was real land which had eluded mapping but later it seemed to him to have been a mirage on the grounds that as much as he advanced towards it the vision receded.

On 13 April 1916 the Museum of Natural History expedition retracing Admiral Peary's journey "glimpsed a land of hills, valleys and snow-capped peaks through at least 120º of the horizon" from approximately where Peary had seen it. The Eskimos accompanying the expedition dismissed the vision as a mirage.

Hayes recorded finding a yellow-winged butterfly and a mosquito ("Who could believe it?") at 78º17'N in July "plus ten moths, three spiders, two bees and two flies". These observation find support from Greely in his book Three Years of Arctic Service. He stated of his time there from 1881 onwards that: "The extremes of the Arctic are vibrant with life to the extent that the explorer cannot speak of them faithfully without exposing himself to the risk of criticism for exaggeration, and it is a strange thing when one generally supposes that the extreme North, according to the oldest geographical theories, is a desolate area of eternal ice." He mentioned birds and flowers, butterflies and flies of unknown species, the high temperatures of 15-18°C and the abundance of willow, and branches afloat still bearing leaf which had been transported - from where? - by the current.

pretty amazing if its true,
and thats the thing about these isolated places, people dont venture there because of the fear that something might not exist.
what we need are more pioneers ,people that arnt affraid to take those risks. whatever is there or isnt there,it still remains unexplored and uncharted. the ability to chart ,plot and record these areas is something that the world will always need.
maybe some of the polar nations have flown over and recorded the positions of land formations ect.but that dosnt mean they have fully explored the area and noted its biodiversity or uncovered its many secrets its bound to posess. i would love to do it myself if i had the money lol
