To mark World AIDS Day, Saddelback Pastor Rick Warren is hosting a Civil Forum on Global Health at the Newseum in Washington, D.C. Warren will present President Bush with the first ?A target=_top href="http://blog.christianitytoday.com/ctliveblog/archives/2008/11/general.msnw?action=get_threads&Dir=0&ID_Last=66533">International Medal of PEACE?from the Global PEACE Coalition in recognition of his unprecedented contribution to the fight against HIV/AIDS and other diseases. The “International Medal of PEACE?is given for outstanding contribution toward alleviating the five global giants recognized by the Coalition, including pandemic diseases, extreme poverty, illiteracy, self-centered leadership and spiritual emptiness. The Bush administration reports that its AIDS initiative helped treat two million people this year living with HIV/AIDS.

So a pastor from a conservative church decides that Bush gets an International Medal of Peace???  WTF???  Yeah, that darn Nobel society doesn't have it goin' on anymore, so let's take it upon ourselves to begin the revisionist history BEFORE IT'S EVEN HISTORY.

Jen, even Obama has praised Bush's AIDS initiative. But it IS ironical to give a peace award to the man who invaded Iraq and authorized torture and established the prison at Guantanamo.

I wouldn't mind saying the same things that NeverCominHome said because I don't believe bush did anything for anyone, except cause trouble.  He's probably just looking out for himself and doesn't seem to care what happens to others.  He's really dumb or he has no heart.  I hope someone can name one single thing that buzzard did right for America.  That idiot can't even talk right so no one with any honesty in their bones would give him a Medal of Peace.   Hell, any teacher would gladly stand the creep in the corner.

Instead of elevating Bush as an "in your face," to his multitude of critics, this organization must live with the inexcusable cheapening of its first ever international award, probably permanently staining it as a meaningless platitude from a good old boy club to one of their own.

Obama's praise of the AIDS work is because he lights a candle instead of cursing the darkness. We saw that in the campaign, when he refused to respond to the neocons, or McCain Palin in the way they played. He made them play his game, and that is why he is President Elect.

If NeverCominHome hadn't posted this, I would know nothing about it.  I saw for, about 2 seconds, on the news last night.  That Pastor handing over the Medal of Peace to bush.  That was so stupid for both of them to be engaged in.  Most people know that bush is just a piece of fly around dust that did nothing except bend and break rules and laws.
I thank NeverCominHome for bringing my attention to it and giving me some new knowledge.  I really appreciate knowledge from everyone in this group.

You know, knowing how the Bush administration cooks its own stories with exaggeration, I think maybe a few of these were stretched.

First, Pastor Warren is an old junk dealer.

Second Bush didn't exactly receive a peace medal. He received a piece of metal.

When his aids picked it up, a fight ensured, not between the HIV and the AID, but between the GOP and the IMP.

See? BS. (CBS)
