This is the fishing trip Kent and I were invited to go on out in Oregon. We were on the Rogue River. We started on the river Sunday morning and stopped at a different lodge each night and came off the river on Wednesday. I just can't even begin to tell you how much fun it was!!
These are the boats we were in. There were six couples and we each had our own guide. Talk about a diverse group of people!
This is the view from one of the lodges we stayed in. You can see our boats down in the left corner. There was a full moon that night and Kent and I had one of the rooms that faced this view. It was beautiful!! It was so bright out I got up in the night to see if I could see any bears down there. No luck. The breeze blowing in the window was so nice and cool. I just soaked it up!
This was one of the many rapids we went through! Kent thought I was going to be scared to death. He had been on this trip four other times and he did not tell me about the rapids!! I totally surprised him...I threw my hands in the air and yelled woohoo..like I was on a Disney ride!! LOL Um this one I just sat still though...kinda close going through the rocks!!! Those guides really have to work to row through all these rapids safely!!! I always felt safe though!
These are a few of the guides getting lunch together. We never had to lift a finger. They layed out a great spread!! Second day out they cooked some of the salmon we had caught and OMG I've never had any that tasted so good!!
This is a pine tree at one of the lodges. It would be interesting to know how often it's been photographed. It's pretty famous. It's called The Dinosaur. Poor thing is starting to look like it might be dying. It will be very sad when it does.
Well these two pictures are my pride and joy!!! LOL We caught alot of smaller salmon but that last day we all caught some pretty good sized ones. I've never caught such a big fish and it was a rush!!! He's in my freezer right now...lol! I now totally understand your addiction Sheila!!!!!
This is the whole group...all six couples our last night together in a hotel in Medford. All of us ladies had bought t-shirts at the first lodge we stayed at that said River Goddess on them....LOL!! It was so much fun and so beautiful out there. I've got my fingers crossed that we are invited back again!!! LOL
Hope you enjoyed!
