We lost Shiela (our last ferret, albino female) she lived 8 yrs.  We decided to let her go, she had an adrenal tumor.  We are not getting anymore.  She was our fifth and final.  My daughter is almost in high school and our sched will be too busy to be good ferret parents so I will just live vicariously through everyone here.  There is a big hole in my heart though. I loved being owned by my ferrets and will miss that tremendously......

We are sorry to hear of Shiela's crossing over the rainbow bridge. I say to remember those who crossed over is to make them live again if only in your heart.
I think Chloee would not mind some extra humans to call her own. The way she's running around right now she thinks she owns the place already. So if your close enoungh drop by for a vist all four of us would be happy to see you.

I'm so sorry you have lost Shiela.  Eight years is quite old for a ferret so she lived a very long, happy life.  Even so, 8 years old or 30 years old doesn't matter.  Regardless of how old they are, it breaks your heart to lose them.  There is something about an Albino.  They have minds of their own and are very special.  I had an Albino female and it hurt quite a bit when I had to have her put to sleep.  Each ferret you have had has a special place in your heart and will be missed.  You gave each of your ferrets the love and care they needed and deserved.  That counts a lot.  Shiela will be looking down upon you each and every day.

Thanks so much for your offer.  I am in the USA, Ozark, Missouri to be exact.  The most beautful city in all Missouri. So that would be a bit of a drive but if I am ever in Canada........  Much love to Chloee

You are right about albino's.  Shelia was deaf also.  She was more withdrawn than the others and was a biter.  She had 5 previous owners before we got her.  We got her when she was 18mo.  After about a yr though she didn't bite but remained aloof.  Strangely after Rufus and Rascal died she became more attached to us and would follow us around and play with us more.  The last 3 yrs that she lived were my most enjoyable with her. I was more attached to her than then her brothers because she was such a challange.  My other ferrets lived 6 yrs which is still pretty good.  All had adrenal tumors.  Rufus I did have the surgeries but he was never the same afterwards so when Rascal and Shelia got them I just let go.
