Introduction The Royal Knights - the elite personal bodyguard service of the King and Queen. This group of handpicked and highly-trained soldiers are dedicated almost-fanatically to the protection of their leige, prepared to give their lives without hesitation so that Luna might continue to live. Serving as a Royal Knight is not easy. It requires constant vigilance for threats and continuous surveillance of all persons nearby. It requires quick reflexes to block attempted attacks and intelligence to decide upon whether survival of the protectee is best guranteed by standing ground, running, or even holding off attackers long enough for her to escape, even if it means certain death. It requires unquestioning loyalty and dedication but at the same time the ability to forcefully remove protectees from dangerous situations if neccesary. It requires the consent to follow orders unquestioningly from the Lead Knight and from King and Queen themselves. It requires Knights to act with honour in all lands, as they represent homestone. And finally, it requires the trusting of no-one but your leige and your fellow Knights; any person could be a potential attacker either wilfully or unwilfully. The King and Queen handpicks every single knight herself, as a result they trusts each and every one with their lifes and protection at any time. As a result, Royal Knights are of high status and unquestioning trust. The original Royal Knights leader often played as unofficial advisor to the King and Queen in realm matters, so Royal Knight can be a position of influence. A Royal Knight also handles considerable power; they are guardians of their Homestone's leader and as such have the ability to exert the laws of the realm and expell people from the community should they become threats to either the Homestone or the King and Queen themselves, although such action requires consent from the leige themselves. Royal Knights must prove themselves as loyal and trustworthy. You do not apply to the Royal Knights; you are invited. You are responsible for conduct as polite, law-abiding and non-confrontational bodyguards (unless the situation neccesitates otherwise), and answer to the Lead Knight and ultimately the King and Queen for everything you do. Royal Knights, in many ways, represent the realm. The Knights themselves do not come under the chain of command for the regular the Homestone's army; the Royal Knights are answerable to only the King and Queen and those that they appoint as superior for any given period of time. However, Knights may be loaned to the army when situation neccesitates. Knights must therefore be prepared to fight in open warfare as well as in a protective role for their leige. Few pass the grade, but those that do are a trusted and powerful number. Royal Knights Induction Speech "This world is an uncertain realm, filled with danger. Honor underminded by the pursuit of power, freedom sacrificed when the weak are oppressed by the strong. But there are those who oppose these powerful forces, who dedicate their lives to truth, honor, and freedom. These men are known as Royal Knights. Rise,(name), and join them." |

Under the moon, the fill blazing moon In quiet repose I would waste away. Dreaming, loving, letting myself fully bloom Where peace is master, Where grief has been slayed. On soft, sweet smelling grass is where I'd sleep With only Heaven's blanket over me. Cool fresh air is the company I'd keep Forever mild nights my eternal destiny. On vast cliffs overlooking the ocean Day would be the moon directly above. I'd gaze happily with no notions Other than the benediction of Love.
Forever under the moon, My tormented heart would beat glad. Under the full blazing moon I'd never again be sad. |

"Along the shore I spy a ship As she sets out to sea; She spreads her sails and sniffs the breeze And slips away from me.
I watch her fading image shrink, As she moves on and on, Until at last she’s but a speck, Then someone says, “She’s gone.?BR> Gone where? Gone only from our sight And from our farewell cries; That ship will somewhere reappear To other eager eyes.
Beyond the dim horizon’s rim Resound the welcome drums, And while we’re crying, “There she goes!?BR>They’re shouting, “Here she comes!?BR> We’re built to cruise for but a while Upon this trackless sea Until one day we sail away Into infinity." |

I was a moment only in Eternity ...unfinished dream... ...a story with no end... I was but the Universe eyelids have closed and it could have been oh, how much still remains... Do not stand at my grave and weep. I am not there. I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glint on the snow. I am the moonlight on ripened grain. I am the autumn rain. When you awake in the morning hush, I am the swift uplifiting rush of angels circling in flight I am the stars that shine at night. Do not stand on my grave and weep. I am not there. I do not sleep.

"...I do not love you as if you were salt-rose, or topaz, or the arrow of carnations the fire shoots off. I love you as certain dark things are to be loved, in secret, between the shadow and the soul. I love you as the plant that never blooms but carries in itself the light of hidden flowers; thanks to your love a certain solid fragrance, risen from the earth, lives darkly in my body. I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where. I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride; so I love you because I know no other way than this: where I does not exist, nor you, so close that your hand on my chest is my hand, so close that your eyes close as I fall asleep." |

Death is one of two things. Either it is annihilation, and the dead have no consciousness of anything, or, as we are told, it is really a change-a migration of the soul from this place to another. Now if there is no consciousness but only a dreamless sleep, death must be a marvelous gain...If on the other hand death is a removal from here to some other place, and if what we are told is true, that all the dead are there, what greater blessing could there be than this ? -= Plato=- |
