White stand up and stairs right at this new wolf, the fur on her scruff stick up. She will not have any fighting here her thoughts are on Dark Lilly and Serenity. She had made up her mind them where her pack now and she would protect them with her life. She had heard this wolf’s voice before and it was involving the fight she had heard a while back. Her head lowered and her ears flattened against her neck she bared her teeth and stood her ground |

RULES
General | Packs | Loner Bands | Breeding | Hunting | Fighting
I General 1. This is a realistic rpg. No powers, magic, evil/good, etc. However, some speech in character is allowed. 2. No powerplaying. 3. No content containing anything with profanity is allowed. 4. BE ACTIVE! Please post at least 3x a week. And if you play an alpha, you must post at LEAST 5x a week. 5. Minimal swearing is allowed. 6. This RPG is for role players of all levels. Do not make fun of anyone else's role playing ability. 7. Please only post in third person. Do not post like this: "I walked down to the stream to get a quick drink." Instead, focus on posting like this: "He walked down to the stream to get a quick drink." 8. There is no length requirement for posts but please aim to make them longer than a paragraph! And be descriptive!
II Packs 1. The alphas are in charge of organizing hunts, accepting loners, and deciding who can breed. 2. Your wolf must submit (at the borders of the territory) to the alpha if you wish for them to join a pack, and it takes a long time to work your way up to higher ranks. 3. Pack wolves can leave a pack whenever they wish. They are not to be scolded or chased off unless they provoked the fight. 4. Referring back to the activity expectations, this one applies to alphas only. If an alpha becomes inactive (they do not post/are not heard from for a week or more unless notice is given that the player will be away, etc.) the next highest ranking wolf gets the spot. If there is one alpha and all upsilons, the wolf who has been in the pack the longest will take the spot.
III Loner Bands 1. Each loner band inhabits ONE loner land. 2. If you'd like to start your own band, there must be one leader and 3 other members played by different people. Once there are 5 bands, that's it, no more for the time being. You must always clear it with CHESA before getting the go-ahead to form a band. 3. Loner bands can fight for a loner land if they want it and it's already inhabited by another band. 4. These bands can NOT challenge a pack for their territory and members. [as of right now, anyways..] 5. Loner bands are like packs, only smaller and with a different ranking system. Leaders keep the rest in line. The secondary wolves are like Betas. Followers are just other members. Omegas are the lowest, there can only be one per band. Pups are pups. 6. Members of a band do not need the leaders' permission to breed in the winter.
IV Breeding 1. Only "short breeding" is allowed and you may post stats for your pups on the Breeding Board. 2. Breeding occurs only in the winter. 3. Pups are born in the spring. 4. Mates are usually for life but there are exceptions to this rule. 5. Once pups reach the age of 2, they become adults and can mate or leave the pack. 6. YOU MUST ASK YOUR ALPHAS IF YOU CAN BREED. Otherwise the pair will be kicked out of the pack OR demoted to the lowest rank possible.
V Hunting 1. Hunting can be done in any of the loner lands or in that pack's territory. 2. Be realistic - the biggest prey any single wolf can take down is a beaver or hare, ptarmigan, mouse, or ground squirrel. 3. Only 1-2 adult wolves are needed to kill a doe or fawn but nothing bigger. 4. A total of 3 adult wolves are required to be able to bring down a caribou or moose.
VI Fighting 1. No powerplaying!!! 2. During a fight, both the challenger and opponent must remain active. If not, within 3 days of the last post, the last one to post will win by default. 3. Wolves can kill other wolves in a fight, but it must be cleared by me and the player of the victim first. I'll read the entire thread and then decide if it's fair to kill off the other wolf or not.
There are no passwords needed to join. However, I am holding all members, old and new alike, responsible for knowing the rules.
*All rules are (c) to Chesa and Sunset Ridge 2002-2006. Any unpermitted useage shall be ruled out immediately.* |

So, think this is just your average wolf role playing game? Think again. Horizen Valley isn't your usual peaceful valley where all wolves can live in harmony. Here, you have to fight for survial and earn your way up to the alpha status. Have battles with the Dark Wolves of the valley, learn the legend of the Temples, hunt to survive, seek powers from the Sages, withstand hurricanes and tornados, encounter werewolves, build a strong pack, then pass on the legend by bringing up pups.
Are you up to the challenge?
Welcome, to Horizen Valley.
Rules:
No cussing. "Damn" is acceptable.
No OOC ( out of character ) conversations on the boards. You can do that in the Suggestions board.
Be active. If you havn't signed any message boards within two weeks, i'll asume that you've quit the game, and your name will be removed from the members list. If you will be going away for a week, or longer, tell me so I know.
Be creative with your character. You can start fights with other wolves, including fights with The Dark Side. Who knows, maybe it'll end up in a valley battle.
Horizen Valley is Copyright meaning, it is illegal to take any content from this web site without permission from me, which includes all text, images, and content. Steal from my site, and i'll hunt you down, and feed you to the wolves.
By clicking "I agree", you agree to the rules above and will be given the form to join Horizen Valley. (You may read information below the button later, if you want.) <FORM action=http://www.expage.com/joinhv3 method=link><INPUT type=submit value="I agree"></FORM>

Rules <STYLE type=text/css></STYLE> Joining:
Enter the Temple you wish to inhabbit.
E-mail me the requested information.
Rules Applying To All Sages:
Sages can shift into his/her human god/goddess form. The human god/goddess form of the Sage, should resemble the Sage's wolf form. Example: The Sage has white fur. It's human god/goddess form should have blonde hair.
The Sage of the Forest Temple is the guardian of the the Forest Temple, the Sage of the Water Temple is the guardian of the Water Temple, and so on.
Sages decide which Spirits will get to inhabbit his/her Temple.
If a wolf enters a Temple without primission, the Sage may choose punnish them in some way, including death.
If Sages wander out into the Valley, they CANNOT kill a wolf. Sages must be in their Temple to banish a Spirit, or kill a wolf.
A Sage may banish, or destroy a spirit in his/her Temple, without an explanation.
Sages have the power to, fly, fade (dissappear), walk through solid objects (ie: a wall), walk unseen (invisable), kill with a sharp glare, etc.
All Sages are immortal. Sages can't kill another Sage for this reason, however, they can injure one another badly.
Sages CANNOT mate. It's no concern of mine whether they choose to love another, though.
Sages control what occurs in their Temple.
Rules Applying To All Spirits:
Spirits must obey the Sage of the Temple at all times.
Spirits may NOT mate. Like the Sages, they may love if they choose.
Spirits cannot kill other Spirits, although they can have battles, injuring one another only when in their SOLID form.
Spirits have the ability to pass through solid objects, fly, walk unseen, etc. Spirits can only kill wolves and other Spirits by using their wolf features; claws, teeth, and strength.
Spirits may wander out into the Valley.

The Temples
<STYLE type=text/css></STYLE>
There is more to Horizen Valley then just, jungles, fields, forests, and tundras. Much more. Hidden within the valley are six sacred Temples. Ancient Temples that were believed to contain Spirits of the wolves of the past, and the almighty wolf gods and goddesses known as Sages. It was believed that each Temple had a Sage ruling it. They said the Sages were so powerful, not even the strongest of powers could defeat them. They were invincible. And when the Sages combined their power, they could do almost anything. The legend of the Temples states that each Sage had his or her own human form, which resembled their godly wolf form. The Sages could take one's life away with one wickid glare. They could trap souls in time, preserving a young one's life for over a hundred years in the Sacred Realm. The Temples are hidden around the valley. One in a deep forest. One inside a tall mountain. One under a vast lake. One inside the house of the dead. One inside a wasteland of sand. The sixth Temple lies near The Clearing, out in the open. Do you have the courage to find the Temples and live the legend? Only the future holds the answer.
