Good Morning!
(hugs, sweeties)

Happy Monday to all.

As we start another week of
challenges and surprises,
let's remember to be thankful
for one thing
we do have...
the friendships of each
other.

Have a safe day.  Listen to a
good tune and hum along.

Close your eyes and
feel my hug.

Good Morning, Friends.

I just got off the phone with Ashlie and
I could hear baby Jake squeaking over the
phone.  I can't wait to get back there and
snuggle up with him.

The weekend is over and I can take a
break!  It was one of those really hectic
weekends.  Looks like next weekend might
be the same.   Actually, it seems like the
next few weekends will be pretty busy.

I hope those who watched the game enjoyed
it.  I didn't have to watch.  John yelled play
by play from the living room.. LOL.  Those
last few minutes of the game I thought he
was going to have a coronary!

Today I plan on catching up on some things.
What are your plans for the day?

HUGs to all

Hello

It is bright and shiny and still warm here.  The cold front doesn't come through until tonight.  So I think Mattie the Wonder dog and I will get another walk in.  Oh, did I tell you, that Mattie is a Wonder Dog now?  She saved a life.  She is such a good doggie.  If I didn't tell you the story (I really can't remember)  tell me and I will tell you all.

Have a great day!

Afternoon all...

It's bright and cold here today.  It is to be this way until Wed, then we soar into the mid to upper 30's, woohoo!!

Marion, I hope you can get some rest this week.  Tell John I think I heard him hollering all the way up here, cackle!

Shari, I don't believe you told us about Mattie saving a life.  Spill the beans.

I'm just taking it easy today.  Letting my back try to return to a more normal state.  Haha, normal my ass...but it's what I'm used to.

Coffee and circle walking....I'll be back later.

Ok Last week, I don't remember which day..  I was doing my crossword at the dining room table.  Mattie was at her perch on the couch, where she can see outside.  She whines and growls at everything going by.  It actually irritates me to no end.  We are trying to break her of that, she didn't used to bark at everything.  Anyway, she started whining and whimpering, and then she came over and starting nudging my elbow.  She does that when she wants my attention, and I said, knock it off!  She went back to the couch, whine, whimper... back to me, nudge nudge... couch, whine whimper, back to me nudge, nudge. This happened a few more times and finally I got up and said.. What???  I looked out the window and there was the lady across the street, on the corner with a shovel, but on the ground.  And it was really cold out, like 5 degrees and windy.  I really couldn't tell though if she was down trying to break up snow or what, so I yelled out the door, are you ok?  and she said, no, I can't get up, I said, I'm on the way.  So, of course, I had to find my shoes..I threw on a thermal shirt and off I went.  I flagged down a truck driving by too, as I figured we'd both go down and then where would we be, lol.  So, we both got there at the same time.  She was fine, not hurt, but she was stuck.  The man that stopped to helped said, Helen...  do you remember me?  I'm Leonard... well don't you know.. he grew up in the house right next door to her house... what are the odds.  There she was, out in 5 degree weather, trying to clear off the corner for the handicapped people, she said.  We don't have any handicapped people in our neighborhood!  She is 90 years old for crying out loud.  I said Helen, next time call me!!!!  So, anyway... Mattie saved her... she is a Wonder Dog and I am making her a cape, lol.

Cool dog... we love her

Barb, I don't know what she was doing out there, the shovel weighs more than she does, lol.  She always says, her family says she shouldn't live alone anymore, but she says she has such nice neighbors that take care of her, she doesn't need to sell her house yet.  She is one of the originals homeowners in the neighborhood.  There are still a few left, I'm a 2nd generation one, I grew up in this neighborhood and Duane wanted to buy a house here, not me, lol.  It's a great neighborhood though.  I guess I'm here to tell everyone who is original and who is not, and how many people have owned the house they live in, lol.

Shari, I think living in the same neighborhood for so long is wonderful.  Sometimes I feel like I don't really have any roots.  When I moved to Austin, I was 30 with my small daughters.  I was newly divorced and decided to make a home in that city.  When John and I needed to move back in 1998 it almost broke my heart.  We expect our kids to move (maybe) but it doesn't seem natural for us to move away from them.  When John got a job offer in the Houston area in 2000, we jumped on it because we are now 150 miles from 5 of our 6 kids.  Lubbock was more like 400 miles.  I still miss living closer to them every day.  I really envy you that you have the roots you have.

Now that 90 year old lady... what can I say but WAY TO GO, LADY!!!  And way to go MATTIE!!
