Good Morning!
Happy Tuesday to all.

I like Valentine's Day.
Not because of a romantic
interpretation, but because
it's my son's birthday (along
with a really neat lady we
all know).  This year I intend
to dig out the heart-shaped cake
pans and make a cherry birthday
cake with cherry frosting.  I'll
pretend he's turning 4 instead of 41,
cackle!!  Believe me, when I look
in the mirror there is no doubt how
old he is.

I've sent emails to Carol, but they
have been returned, which leads me
to think that her mailbox is full...
I'm worried about her.  If anyone
hears from her, let us know please.

Hugs and hello's to all our
missing members...you're not forgotten!

I hope your day is a good one.
Keep a smile close to your heart.

TwinkieHeart

Barb, thanks for the pretty sign in.
I hope your back is not causing you pain.
I've missed so much by not being able to get online.
I hope I can remember it all.
Jackie, congrats on the baby.
He's adorable. I hope you are feeling
better, and have gotten through your "stuff"
Shari, I loved the pic of Shy, she's adorable.
They are so much fun at that age.
Marion, I hope your bp is wear it's suppose to be.
Your pics are great. I'm glad you had such a good time.
If I've forgotten anyone, I'm sorry. My memory is
not as good as it once was.
Barb and Marion, I've decided that next time I go shopping
I'm going to ride on one of those scooters. That put
an image of the 3 of us riding on those, since we all
have troubles with backs. What a hoot that would be.
Look out world! lol Anyone else care to join in?
I don't know if I'd really ride one, cause I'd feel like a
fake, but after only about 5 min. I hurt so much, that
I walk like an old lady, ( oh ok, a real old lady, lol)
Marion, let me know when it's warm enought
to go swimming, and I'll be down. lol I really
need to talk to Jim about moving South
for the winters. Yea right, that will happen.
Prayers for all

Good morning, friends.

Barb, I sure will miss your threads when
MSN removes groups.  It has come to mean
a lot to me to come here and see how you
have started the thread for the day.  I can't
say thanks enough.  Today is another one.

I can't seem to get rid of this chest cold
but John is having trouble getting rid of
his too.  That is VERY RARE for him.  He
doesn't normally get colds but when he
does they last two or three days.  I'm
going to the doctor tomorrow for another
BP check and I'll see if this has turned
into something else.  I hope not.  It does
seem that several of us from the cruise
came back sick.  One guy came on the
cruise with a bad chest cold so maybe
we all got ours from him.

Okay enough boring stuff.

I'm still so stoked about winning first
place for my chili.  Just cracks me up.
When I first got it made it was way too
spicey for the judges so I thawed out
more meat, browned it and added it to
the chili.  Then it was too mild!  LOL.. it
was a juggling game to get it just right.

Today I am trying to find the energy to
clean parts of this house.  I have let it
go so long that I am embarrassed to walk
into my own home.  Now that's bad!

I hope you all have a wonderful day.

Morning/Afternoon to all...

The sun is shining, the sky is blue, the pussycats are howling and all is well.  I'm moving a little better each day.  That doesn't mean I'm doing anything worth reporting, just moving the bones.  I'm really looking forward to the warmer temps predicted for the end of the week.  I really want to get in my car, turn up the radio and just drive.  Anywhere, just get out of here for a few hours by myself.  Winter is hard, not just because of the affect on my head...not being outside is a real bummer.  Moving and exercising.  Sigh....it's just the winter blues.

I'm going to miss putting together my signins for our group.  Thanks, everyone, for the nice words you've said about them.  It's been fun...snagging and posting.

Marion, sorry that you and John still are bothered with the colds.  I'm afraid it's not unusual to return from vacation with some kind of bug.  I hope tomorrow you have better news on your bp.

Ginny, I had to smile at the visual of us gals in our electric scooters, zipping down the road...with me, cackling my arse off!  Whatever it takes to keep us moving, that's what we'll do!

Alec is in some trouble with his grades...an A in shop and a D in English.  Just doesn't cut it in this house.  English is his last class of the day and I feel his head isn't in the class, it's already thinking of what he's going to do when he's out of school.  Anyway...he knows that a C is the bare minimum expected, so he has to bring it up next quarter.  He will, he's a good kid.  Taylor is another story.  I could go on and on,
 but I won't.  It's just too heartbreaking.

Ok...enough of my boring stuff also.

Time to chase the pussycats and do some circles.

Catch everyone later.

Hello!

It snowed... just a dusting.  But I think Matties was pissed off when I let her out this morning... lol.  At least disgusted.  Maybe humans aren't the only ones that tire of winter, lol.  She shouldn't complain.  When spring comes and the back yard melts and shoes allllll her piles, it's quite hte mess and daddy glares at her for a long time, lol.

We had those 3 or 4 days of melting.  I decided yesterday I'd go out to pick myself up some lunch.  Well, we have that damn hill in are driveway.  You can't see what it looks like, driving down it.  It felt bumpy.  When I got in the street, I looked up.. oy vey... one sheet of ice, at least an inch thick.  I thought, I'll never get back up the driveway in my rear wheel drive car!!!!  So I went and got my lunch, came home, looked and the driveway and gave it a try... nope.  Took me 4 tries, and I had to go up the edge where I could  the snow for traction, lol.  It was fun.  Geez, even Andy in his big truck had to put it in 4 wheel drive to make it up the drive.

I really do love winter, lol

I was reading back on some of the days I was missing.  If you all want to use the Soup Kitchen as home base, it is fine with me, I consider it an honor.

You all have a great day!

Good Evening.

The cold wave has hit. It's so cold I don't even want to know what the wind chill is.

Not much happening around here.

Marion how did you dr. appointment go?  Is the bp down?

Barb how's the head and back?

Shari love the pic of Shy.  Mattie is a definite WONDER DOG.  I would say a MIGHTY WONDER DOG.

Time to get dinner on the table.  You all have a great night.

Hugs

Dang cold...we have quite the windchill here, also.
But it won't get me down...it's February!
Winter is on the downside, now it's a waiting game.

Shari, the house I grew up in had a driveway that went uphill, I sure remember the times I slid off the drive, onto the side...or missed it altogether and ended up near a tree at the bottom.  Glad you didn't have to walk on that ice, you'd have to put your yak-traks on.

Becky, good to see you sign in.  I miss you when you don't say hello.  Hugs the animals for me.  (that includes Renae and Dave, cackle!)

Shirley just offered me some tuna helper she made.  I know she means well, but I just can't eat that stuff.  I can eat tuna casserole that I make, but really don't care for the boxed stuff.  There's only a couple hamburger helpers that I can tolerate, also.

Hmmm....supper.  I should think of something.  Maybe I can find a delivery place and order a Cobb Salad and pecan pie.  Yah, you betcha.
