Well, it's been a hell of a day.
I got home a little before noon
and although the deadening was
supposed to last most of the day
it was gone before 12:30 for me.
That's just how I respond to medication.
I had to take a phenergan and 10mg
of Valium before I got there, then
they started an IV with demerol and
whatever meds they use to put you
in lala land. After that they put the
novacaine in, using about 8 shots.
Yeah, I should have been sort of out
of it most of the day. By 1:00 I had
to start the pain meds because it
really hurt. Turns out that one of the
side effects is that a lot of the time
they do this kind of oral surgery some
of the scraping of the gums hits the
sinus cavity and it did to mine. Even
where they dug in and scraped my
gums and stitched them up don't hurt
as bad as the sinus cavity. Long story
short, I have taken the extra strength
Vicodin every 3 hours. I finally ate
about 2 oz mashed taters tonight
and a couple of bites of sherbet.
Couldn't keep it down, but at least for
about 10 minutes I got the taste of
blood out of my mouth.
Okay, enough bitching. I'm going
back to bed.
Becky, I hope you have a wonderful
day tomorrow.
Lynn, hope to see you soon and that
the crowns aren't too painful. If you
need someone to drive you to and from
just let me know. And by the way,
I will answer your email soon. Sorry
I've been lax on that.
Hope Shari made it home safe and sound.
Barb, love the webset. Love you too!
