From the Civil War and before
To the war raging today,
World Wars I and II,
Korean, Viet Nam and Gulf Wars,
Our Families,
Fathers, Brothers, Sons, Uncles,
Cousins, Mothers, Sisters, Daughters
Have fought the battles,
Away and on the home front,
To give us Freedom,
Allowing us to be safe,
They have given their lives,
So that we may live,
In a country that is ours,
They have sacrificed,
Paying the ultimate price,
So that we may have Freedom of Speech,
Freedom of Religion,
The right to live where we wish,
Work where we want,
To have our families,
To love and be with our children,
When their children will only know them from photos,
And stories their family will tell them,
About their hero father or mother,
The Heroes that return home,
Have paid a price too,
They live with the horror,
Visions they will keep in their head,
Never speaking aloud,
Horror's and anguish too heart breaking to share,
Some have lost limbs,
Eyes, ears and more,
But they stand strong on their,
Convictions,
They love their country,
They are:
Proud to be Americans,
We are Proud of Them
Our Military Brothers and Sisters,
