Willard Water (Catalyst Altered Water)
Willard Water, also called catalyst altered water, is a concentrate sold in some health food stores. John Willard, Ph.D., a professor of chemistry, developed this substance while working in oil fields, and after much experimentation he patented two forms of the concentrate. Willard Water is sold as a clear or dark concentrate for mixing with "good" water, good being defined as uncontaminated spring water, distilled water or filtered tap water. The treated water, which reduces stress and improves digestion and the assimilation of nutrients in humans and animals, was the subject of a 1980 "60 Minutes" television program and two subsequent books.
I was interested in Willard Water's ability to destroy chlorine and to act as a preservative and disinfectant, so in 1991, the year he died, I corresponded with Dr. Willard. In a letter dated April 16, he wrote, "In answer to your question, I will give you some information that is not public knowledge. Put one-third of an ounce (10c.c.) of clear Willard Water extract into one gallon of good water (use distilled or deionized water if you're not sure). Put the dilute solution in a mist sprayer and spray it on hair, wounds, food, raw meat, etc., to disinfect. It reacts with the air to become a powerful oxidizing agent and preservative. I have cleaned up two hospitals with very hazardous contamination. For all other purposes, the dilution of once ounce clear concentrate per gallon of water (or two ounces of the dark concentrate) is best. For raw milk or fresh juice, add one ounce of either clear or dark Willard Water per gallon, or one and one-half teaspoons per quart. Milk tastes richer and keeps fresh longer."
I always add a pinch of unrefined sea salt and a splash of Willard Water concentrate to our drinking water. Willard Water has been used and tested on animals for decades, and the result is a long list of documented improvements with no adverse side effect. The most frequently reported claims from farmers, veterinarians, breeders, trainers, handlers and pet owners are improved digestion, calmness, improved coat luster and eye sparkle, improved gait, resistance to stress-related illness and increased immunity. Willard Water seems to improve the body's assimilation of vitamins, minerals and other nutrients.
