If you having to make errands while your taking your ferrets to the vets office

Remember heat KILLS!

Do not under any circumstances leave your ferret in the car if you cant take them with you take them home! Rolling down windows, putting ice packs or battery fans on carriers do not protect your ferrets from the heat that builds up inside your car.

It  only takes minutes for a ferret left in a car on a warm day to have heatstroke and die. Most people dont realize how hot it can be in a car on a hot day.
However, on a 78 degree day, temperatures in a car parked in the shade can exceed 90 degrees -- and hit a scorching 160 degrees if parked in the sun!

Many experts recommend not to leave any pet or child in parked cars even for short periods if the temperature is in the 60s or higher.

If your ferret becomes overheated take cool water to your ferrets feet and a cool wash rag to the ferrets face and try getting water in them,  do not submerge your ferret into a cold tub of water. If you have to travel with your ferret take ice packs and put them under bedding carry a spray bottle and plenty of water. As mentioned though do not ever leave your ferret or any pets in a closed car in the summer....

I had to take one of my  fuzzy with me on a hour trip with no AC in 90 + temps, I had her in a travel cage not carrier because the cage is completely opened... and had windows rolled all the way down and every so often lightly misted her with the spray bottle, the wind and the wet fur kept her cool and she did fantastic...I would never have taken her or any of my ferrets out in these temps if it wasnt necessary to do so...
