Today we went to get ferret food and pick up a ferret
Mojo is his name and he is a cute little sable but for some reason
he is absolutely terrified ... screaming and fear biting terrified.
When he was surrendered he was ok but something snapped, Im
hoping I can bring him around to liking and trusting people again.

BUT that is not the ferret math part!!!

Somehow I brought 3 ferrets home with me a Black eyed white boy
who is an absolute cuddle bug he spent an hour cuddling in shamans arms
willingly!!! and a hyper little Silvermitt girl who is just so precious :)

Pics to come ...

Update : All have and are settling in well , Mojo is still Mojo... he isnt hiding as much and will come out a little from hiding to watch me clean his cage. I will talk to him while I do it and he listens to me so well I think he knows what Im saying and I even sing to him (please dont call the RSPCA on me lol) Its going to take a long time but I have all the time in the world, he wont be going anywhere so Im letting him go at his pace.

I heard Mojo whispering to me....He wants to come home with Auntie FB...hehehehe.
I have no answers for biters, i used to think i did til i took in the last 5 path valley from the shelter because they were (ARE) meaner then snot. I have delt with biters for almost 11 years and been bitten something awful (so i thought) til these girls. Of coarse these girls arent fear biting, they just bite cause they want too...lol
They have been with me for a year and all of them still bite but only two bite you and mean business...blood and all!!!
All five girls came from a pet store, were surrendered to the shelter because they are so mean.  I told our shelter lady I would take them because they had everyone scared to death to go near their cage because they could be in a dead sleep and smell you and come a runnin....lol

If Mojo is fear biting he may interpret scruffing as aggresion form you and bite more. Try just a firm NO when he bites and after a couple of bites pop him in an empty cat carrier where he can see you interacting with the otheres but can't join in. He should learn that biting means no fun.

Do everything you can to make him see you and your hands as friendly, feed him from your hands with what ever is his favourite treat. Above all be calm and consistent and you will see results eventually, he will probably always be a nervous boy but should improve enoguh to enjoy his lie a little more.

harry used to grab your nose, and lip sometime so fast its was like lightning. i would tap her firmly on the head and say a loud NO. she's great now even lets me kiss her on the head. she's turned out to be my favourite, comes when called will actuaully lie in your arms [briefly...she's a busy lady] to have her body scratch. she scooted outside one day and we were all running around the neighbourhood with squeak toys [yup looked like a bunch of winners] and when i called her in the neightbours yard, she poked her little noodle out and came running.
do ferrets not have a homing instinct?
