Although ferrets arent affected as badly by the cold as they are the heat , they still need to kept nice and warm. They are prone to catching sniffles and colds just like us humans, so if you have a cold take measures not to pass it on to them. A sick ferret is hard to deal with and prevention is better than cure. Ferrets are social animals and are happiest indoors with their humans. If kept outdoors there cage should have a small housing/nesting box big enough to move around in but small enough to keep in their body heat and filled with suitable ferret safe bedding , I use baby blankets and lots of them but old tracksuit jumpers are fine. Make sure the box raised off the ground and is facing away from the wind also the front of the cage can be covered with Hessian sacks and heavy plastic for more protection from the elements.
