The Dead Ferret Syndrome or The Dead Ferret Sleep

Ferrets are sound sleepers and sometimes they fall into such a deep, relaxed sleep
that you may be mistaken to think your little bundle of love has died. I know I have.
I went to their cage and all came running out except Kama he just laid there and I
couldnt see him breathing no movement at all so I carefully petted him calling his
name and nothing, so I gently picked him up and rushed my unconscious little boy
into where hubby was, he looked at me tears streaming down my face, he looked at
the lifeless limp ferret I was holding in my arms and he too thought the worst had
happened he reached out and took Kama from me and at that very instant Kama's
eyes popped open and he gave me that "why have you disturbed my nap" look.

*This is not to say that any ferret that suddenly starts sleeping heavily
may not be experiencing a medical problem. If you think your ferret is sick,
please take your ferret to see your veterinarian ASAP.
