Hot Chocolate

6 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa
6 tablespoons sugar
pinch of salt
2 1/2 cup milk
2 1/2 cup light cream
1/2 teaspoon vanilla or more to taste
pinch of cinnamon powder, optional
whipped cream
orange zest

Mix cocoa, salt and sugar. Add milk. Heat to dissolve. Add light cream, cinnamon and vanilla. Heat to just under boiling. Mix very well and pour into warm mug. Top with whipped cream, cocoa powder, and fine orange zest.

White Hot Chocolate
1 cup white chocolate chips
1 cup heavy cream
4 cups half-and-half
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract
Vanilla whipped topping, for garnish
Candy cane, crushed or whole, for garnish
Peppermint liqueur, optional
White chocolate liqueur, optional

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine white chocolate chips and heavy cream. Stir continuously until white chocolate chips have completely melted. Stir in the half-and-half, vanilla extract and peppermint extract. Stir occasionally until heated through.

Pour into mugs and top with a dollop of vanilla whipped topping and a candy cane.

Cook's Note: For a tasty adult drink, add desired amounts of peppermint and white chocolate liqueurs.

Hot "White Chocolate"

1 Qt. Milk
1 Cup Nestle Toll House® Treasures Premier White Deluxe Baking Pieces; chopped and divided
¼ Cup Almond-Flavored Liqueur
½ Cup Heavy or Whipping cream; whipped
4 Cinnamon Sticks; for garnish

In 2-quart saucepan, combine milk and 2/3 cup Treasures Premier White deluxe baking pieces. Stir over medium heat until baking pieces are melted and mixture is hot but not boiling. Remove from heat; stir in liqueur. Pour into 4 heatproof mugs. Top with whipped cream and sprinkle with remaining chopped baking pieces. Garnish with cinnamon sticks.

Brazilian Iced Chocolate Coca-cola



2 ounces Chocolate, unsweetened

1/4 cup Sugar

1 cup Coffee, double-strength and hot

2 1/2 cups Milk

1 1/2 cups Coca Cola, chilled

Whipped cream or vanilla Ice cream



In the top of a double-boiler over hot water, melt the chocolate

squares. Stir in the sugar. Gradually stir in hot coffee, mixing

thoroughly. Add the milk and continue cooking until all particles of

the chocolate are dissolved and the mixture is smooth, about 10

minutes. Pour into a jar. Cover and chill. When ready to serve, stir

in the chilled Coca-Cola. Serve over ice cubes in tall glasses.



For a beverage, top with whipped cream. For a dessert, add a scoop

of vanilla ice cream.

Makes 5 cups.
