Good Morning Friends...

Alwin had a lot of running around to do so I tagged along. It was too much a beautiful day to stay indoors. We also picked AJ up from band practice and brought him to get his flu shot. A very long day for us. We got home around 6pm so I was really tired.

This week sure is moving along quickly. The weekend is almost here. We haven't made any special plans as of yet. Our favorite thing to do is watch movies.

Sally, enjoy your trip. We miss you and hope that your trip is a safe one.

I'm excited about moving to our new place. Can't wait to see it!

 My thoughts and prayers are with all of  our friends that are in need special prayer due to family or personal  illness & also with our troops. May the Lord bring healing to you.

Have an incredible Thursday!!

Warm Caramel Apple Cake

~~~Cake~~~
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1/4 cup whipping cream
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup chopped pecans
2 large cooking apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced (about 2-1/3 cups)
1 box Betty Crocker® SuperMoist® yellow cake mix
1-1/4 cups water
1/3 cup vegetable oil
3 eggs
1/4 tsp. apple pie spice
Topping:
2/3 cup Betty Crocker® Whipped fluffy white frosting (from 12 oz. container)
/2 cup frozen whipped topping, thawed
Caramel topping, if desired
Preheat oven to 350° F.
In 1 quart heavy sauce pan, cook butter, whipping cream and brown sugar over low heat, stirring occasionally, just until butter is melted. Pour into 9" x 13" baking pan. Sprinkle with pecans; top with sliced apples. In large bowl, beat cake mix, water, oil, eggs and apple pie spice with electric mixer on low speed until moistened. Beat on medium speed 2 minutes. Carefully spoon batter over apple mixture. Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until toothpick inserted near center comes out clean. Cool in pan 10 minutes. Loosen sides of cake from pan. Place heatproof serving platter upside down on pan; carefully turn platter and pan over. Let pan remain over cake about minute so caramel can drizzle over cake. Remove pan. In small bowl, mix frosting and whipped topping. Serve warm cake topped with frosting mixture and drizzled with caramel topping.
Hello friends. It is snowing and blowing here. Terrible strong winds.
Electricity is acting up too. Hopefully it will hold on.
Thinking of making something with steak tonight. Something warm.
Have a great day.
Good Morning,
I read of some of you having snow and we are at 70 degrees right now and expecting a high of 75 with some rain showers.  It's really cloudy right now with no sun even peeping through.
Just the usual around here for the day.  I'm trying to decide on something to cook for supper, but haven't thought of anything yet...I'll come up with something.  Lew loves fish sticks and mentioned this morning that he would like to have some tonight, so I guess that's what it will be along with some rice and that leftover corn from last night.
It seems so strange to come here and not post some recipes.  We will be moving soon and then everyone can pitch in and we will soon have our recipe boards at Yuku filled with plenty of recipes.  We have only been at GSK for a year after moving from GSC and we have a lot of recipes posted here, so I'm sure it will be the same after we make our move. Don't worry about the move, I think you will be surprised at how quickly you will figure everything out and we will all be learning together and helping each other.
I'm sorry to hear of so many of our friends who are not feeling well.  Thoughts and prayers for all of you.
Sally, enjoy your trip, have a safe one, and hurry back to us.  We miss you when you are not here.
Have a good Thursday.
Hugs,
Genie
Hi everyone,
Denver is chilly at the moment it's 34 and we are expected to get to 45.   At least it looks like they've decided no snow down here.
Spent the day with my folks yesterday and now I'm a little worried as by the time I came home I was feeling really cruddy and today can hardly talk.  I SO hope I didn't pass anything on to them!  At their ages, even a cold can be worrisome.
My plans for today will be on hold I guess, and hubby will have to take Kel for her appt. at the Dermatologist's.
Hope you all have a good day.
Kay
Hello everyone, sorry I'm so late with a daily greeting so I'm going to give a good evening and sweet dreams greeting instead. I've been under the weather myself today but I have a dr appt in the morning so she'll find out whats going on with me. I think I have an upper resipiratory infection coming on and my vertigo is acting up again. I've been staggering around the house today and to help me feel better just staying close to my oxygen which I usually just use while sleeping. Yuku and aimoo are both great sites so I'm glad you are making the move to yuku. Its really pretty easy to find your way around after you just get use to it,lol. We'll have a lot more features than what we have on msn and hey, no more lost pages and red x's,lol. Genie, they also have an area for helping msn groups get everything set up and the skins they offer are wonderful. It won't take long for the recipies to get built back up, not for this group anyways,lol. For the members that don't already have a yuku account they might want to go ahead and have theirs activated so when your all ready for the move it will just be a matter of clicking a link and you guys accepting the memberships. Ladies don't let something new scare you, believe me if I can find my way around in yuku anyone can,lol. You'll be pleasantly surprised on how much easier it will be there and way faster. I better get to bed, I have to get the girls off to school and then on to my appointment. Hugs,Deb
