Ok ya see, Mom had had a surgery last Aug. She had lost so much weight that her belly was hanging on her legs making it hard to walk. She had to have that removed. She had all kinds of test done to make sure she would be able to take the surgery. All Doc.'s gave her the go. After the surgery she was in intensive care for about 10 days on a ventilator. Then they took her off and she had one really bad day. I really got scared and thought she might die that day. However she pulled through. She came home but her breathing was never quite right again. The Dr. kept telling her it would take time, like 6 months or so to recover. So we waited and waited. She would often use the oxygen they gave her because she felt it hard to catch her breath. She had troubles sleeping and was always tired. We did get her to start going out and she did get to enjoy her new body. My one wish is that she would have gotten in the pool at Nates B- Day party. His party was in Feb. and she passed in March. She Loved to swim, but had not done it in many, many years. Well as it goes the day before she passed my Dad was telling me how worried he was. Lee Anne had taken her to the Dr. that did the surgery and he had given her the all clear on the actual surgery but Dad did not think Mom was well. Her breathing is still very bad he told me. I did not get to see her that day because I had to get to work and she was late coming back from the Dr office. She called me at work and I asked how everything was. She said, " I will be fine Gina" and I said I love you talk to you later. That was it. The next morning at around 5am I got a frantic call from my Brother in Law to get to my parents house because Mom had stopped breathing. I just kept hoping that she would be Ok but I knew as soon as I pulled up in front of the house she was gone. My Dad came out the front door just shaking his head and through his arms around me. We now believe that is was a heart attack caused by maybe a blood clot from the surgery. Because she did not move around much after the surgery, due to the breathing problems. Since we did not wish to have an autopsy we will never know for sure. Maybe she had a clot in her lungs and that is why she was having the breathing problem? I don't know.
On a side note..... I do not believe we get to decide in any way when we will go to be with God and our loved ones. I think he chooses when he needs you. I have seen fat people and skinny people die young. Her size did not have anything to do with why she died. God needed her for something. It was time for her to go. Some people tell me now that they are worried about me. That I should loose weight so that I do not end up dying at such a young age. I just want to be healthy to be able to do the things that I want to do. God will take me when he needs me, like he did Mom. I just want to be able to run and play with TJ and Nate. She could not do that. I will not miss that.
