Hey everyone I hope you had a great Thursday. It is my last slow day befor my sells pickup for Fri, Sat, and Sun.. then Monday and Tuesday I spend mailing out packages (I run a eBay Store). I didn't get in any real work out today but I will do a 45 minute Tia Chi session in befor bed. It doesn't burn allot of calls or get my heart rate up, but I always feel better on the days I get my tia' chi in. How did everyone else do today? ~Amanda~ |

Hey Amanda (friday now),
I didn't do my daily run yesterday. I'm starting to listen to what my body wants to do and doesn't....if I'm actually tired, I don't run. If I'm hurting, not just sore, I don't run. Too much chance of injury. However, I played some badminton with my husband, and spent about 30-40 minutes doing cardio and stretching...kinda like dance, except it gets my heart up AND stretches out the muscles slowly...I feel so limp afterwords. I also did basic calisthenics...jumping jacks, push ups, situps, leg lifts, squats.
Today, I'm just psyching myself up for that dreaded run. I know once I go out, and pump up the tunes I'll be in heaven...right now...not so much.
I can say that I've been eating healthily, been working out consistantly, and for once, am feeling HEALTHY! Not thin. Just healthy. Even on here, my healthy was "I'm on Effexor so I'm not hungry..." yeah...that worked until I went OFF Effexor.
Now I'm at a place where I can truly focus on "Am I really hungry?" "Do I want this for nutrition, the taste, or am I just grazing?" It's a very satistfying feeling but in the back of my head, the fat girl keeps saying "You're just gunna put the weight back on"...
I told her to do some situps and talk to me in an hour :)

"Do I want this for nutrition, the taste, or am I just grazing?" | I sometimes have to ask myself the same thing. I tend to eat while I am bored or out of habbit while watching tv or while on my pc. It seems to help if I think about why I am eating, most of the time I just kind of graze without even noticing that I am snacking! |

I actually read an article that I thought was STUPID at first about a girl who relaxed about food and stopped worrying about what she ate. She would decline food if she wasn't hungry, but if she craved chocolate, she ate it.
I've kinda been trying to develop this mentality and it's actually not that hard to do. I've gotten rid of bad foods, and just had "food". My body LIKES fruits and veggies, yogart, homemade "real" food, and bread.
I eat 1/2 a roll a day, with a meal but I eat pasta and oatmeal almost every day. My husband and I eat veggies with EVERY meal. My plate is now 1/2 to 3/4 veggies because I know my body doesn't really want that much potato or carb.
Also, I eat dessert at night. I know there is something sweet in the fridge or freezer that I MADE, not bought because now I control what's in it and how much sugar goes in. I eat one slice and know that once that is gone, there will be something else made because...I'll make it.
Its nice to not "limit" myself to diet food...and feel full and happy. I counted up my calories today...I ate
-an apple, yougart, and oatmeal for breakfast
-dinner was pasta cassarole, salad with dressing, carrot sticks
-supper was ham (vegeterian didn't last long,..even with tofu, I've been borderline anemic so I need iron suppliments and meat right now), salad, swiss chard, and new potatos with skins in the food processer with a tbsp of butter, herbs and cheese, and 1/2 a roll...
All in all, about 1350-1400 calories. :) Also, I went for a run and haven't been "fatigued" and I played badminton with my husband for 30 minutes. My diet is called the "screw the diet, just eat real food"

Amanda,
Justin (hubby) and I actually chose to cancel the television, and I love it. I never want a tv in my house again. It makes it a treat when I go home to watch a show...
i also worry about spilling food on the laptop so that curbs my pc cravings :) |
