Hi- 3 weeks ago I was doing great, I'd been going to a kick boxing class 2 times a week, going to the gym once or twice also, and trying to eat healthier... I was at my breaking point, so determined to lose the weight, I've lost weight before 5 years ago i was at my lowest, size 5ish... i'd be thrilled with a 10 right now... i'm a 14/16 now, well... i think... the begining of Aug i was out with friends and i stood up, my ankle rolled and i felt a crack, i fractured my ankle in 2 places and won't be able to walk for another 5 weeks and even then i will have to walk with a boot for a few months, the dr looked at me like i was nuts when i asked when i could go back to kick boxing :( It will be a year before my bones heal completley he told me... =p I'm so discouraged- all i can do is lay here and try to hobble around on my crutches, but that's scary. I'm trying to do arm excercises and once my hubby brings my ab roller from the basement i'll start doing that, but this sorta bites. Well, that's my story, i can't really weigh myself... i'm not so balenced on one foot yet :) but i'm still going to try to really watch what i eat since i'm not moving very much and excercise as much as i can while sitting in bed.... i'll let you know if i'm succesful :) wish me luck! |

I feel for you. I hope you heal quickly. That is so sad. Appperntly, you love kick boxing. I broke my leg and arm in a car accident a few years ago, and I already had MS, so my mobility went down to a flat zero. I gained so much weight. I so hope you are able to do some kind of movement. Do you have a diet plan you are going to follow? Be sure and come back here and post and let me know how you are doing? I would love to meet you on this group every day, and we can help each other. I am a size 28 so I have lots to lose. Huggers |

Hi :) I don't really have a diet plan yet... should probably get one, I guess I'm just going to try and eat better foods and smaller portions. I'd really like to meet here everyday to help each other, that sounds great! I'm trying to have a more positive attitude about my injury because i know it could have been worse and i will heal, i'm sorry to hear about your injuries from that accident, are you all healed now? Everyone has to start some where and it doesn't matter what size you are, every time you go down a size it feels just as good, i can still remember losing weight before and it's so worth it so just keep going and we can both reach our goals :) |

We should start a buddy thread on here. Yes my arm and leg are healed that was in 95, I still have the MS and can only walk short distances, very short. When in public I use an electric wheelchair. But I do exercise on my good days. I exercise for a few minutes and take a break, then few more minutes, and take a break. So I can do Leslie's Sansone tape in intervals. You know, walk away the pounds. I met a lady on another MSN group that has ms. She lost 100 pounds by exercising with one of those table top bicycle pedals for your arms and got to her goal weight. Can you imagine that? I try to do Weight Watchers, but I haven't been on track very good. I need to change that. I will try to catch you later, have a great day. Peggy |

Hi :) That would be great to start a buddy thread... how do you do that? I've used one of those arm things when i went to physical therapy a few years back, it did get my heart rate up so that would be a great excercise if that's something you can do :) How long have you had MS, one of my friends mothers has it... i'm sorry you have to deal with that, but you can still get to your goal just like that lady you were talking about :)I'm thinking of doing slim fast for breakfast and lunch and then eating dinner because i'm not eating that healthy now and that way i'll get all those vitamins that will help my bones heal. Hope you had a good week :) |
